Mike isn't leaving michigan. He is not head coach material. Jerry is trying to leave though. In job news UT-Tyler will have a head coach opening.

What events is Central Michigan looking for?

Link? UT Tyler just jumped up to DII and by what I hear they will gradually increase scholarship and program support for athletics. Did their head coach (Stonestreet I think is his name) get a better job?
Any word on what’s happening at UMass Boston?

Head XC Coach for newly combined Long Island University

Question: Which type of coach makes the biggest difference in an athlete's performance? Is it sprints, throws, jumps, or distance, etc.? I would guess jumps. Seems like the most technique. And for least important coach, I would say long distance or XC. Agree?
It is definitely the sprints. I don't necessarily think it's because of training. It's a culture thing. A really great sprints coach seems to will performances out of their athletes. Sprints coaches deal a lot with the psychological. There are important training/ technique factors as well. But having the coach who knows how to coach the psychological side of sprinting is invaluable.
I would agree that distance has the least effect on performances. Distance is very much up to the individual. The individual has to make the decision every day. Distance takes the most personal dedication of all the events.
Heard central Michigan might have a sprints/hurdles opening now.

I wouldn’t doubt it. There’s been untimely turnover since they gave Jenny the head position. She is a prime example of hiring a female to meet a quota instead of the most qualified person. The leadership qualities just aren’t there.

I disagree- I have seen the program up close and she has been a 180 from the last 2 directors- actually recruiting the right kids, making connections with local coaches and athletes, and leading them to much more success than they have had in recent history. Several athletes I know in the program and big fans of her, especially compared to recent leadership there.
So is CSUN still looking for a head coach ?

Lol, not Jenny. Local high school coach with a female distance runner committed to run for the Chips next fall, and a good relationship with her. First time either of those things are true RE: CMU staff in many years.

Speaking of 180s in MAC distance what is happening to the Eastern Michigan distance crew? Or is Miami just that much better?
Any word on UND?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
