Not sure what your agenda is, but as I stated, I ran 9:37 for 3200m and got a full scholarship at Division I. I have no problem sharing my details, as my story has been told. I chose Florida International University. Also offered from Univ. of Florida and Univ. of Miami, full rides. I could have gone to UCLA, Notre Dame, and Clemson and paid a lot of money, but I chose the best financial situation. My little brother ran 4:28/9:54 and got a full ride to FIU as well, then transferred to Florida State and earned a full ride. My sister ran 5:16/11:38 and got a full ride. My wife ran 5:28/12:18 and got a 100% scholarship, DI.
More relevant, my niece ran 11:30 in 2016 and got a full ride, DI as well (Southland Conference). My best friend's son went sub-9 (last year) and obviously signed 100% full ride at one of the best DI programs.. When I was a DI Coach, I offered full rides to kids than ran between 9:20-9:50. Girls, anything under 12:30 for 3200m. My sister coaches a solid top high school in Florida and continues to sign full scholarship girls to college. Their school record is around 5:00/10:50.
So whatever your agenda is, just stop posting. There are over 300+ Division I universities in the country that need to fill rosters and that have scholarships and are funded and a lot of these don't deal with sprints/jumps/field. Obviously, there are more opportunities for women, but there are dozens of programs out there looking for talent and simply, bodies.
My advice: decide what is important for you: is it to run at an awesome DI running school; is it to go to an amazing academic program; or is it to be 100% free of any debt when you graduate and you make your life and degree what it's worth?
You guys know how to find me, send me an email if you want any strategic advice. I've got a high school sophomore in this process right now, so I know the game.
Enjoy Black Friday... and to the kids wanting to run D1, don't let anyone ever tell you that you can't run DI. Running is about progress. 80% of the NCAA D1 is made of of kids that run 9:30-10:00. Find a program/coach that believes in you and give it your best.
You ran 13 seconds slower than what the 500th fastest kid in the US ran and you got a full ride? Your little brother, who is 9 seconds off over the mile and probably not even ranked in the top 1000 got a full-ride to Florida State?
Please. STOP LYING. There is absolutely no reason to keep trying to get everyone's hopes up.
