"Look at me"
Depends on each person's situation but basically all my routes loop through the downtown at the end. You go wherever lets you meet mileage and end where you started-other considerations are secondary.
I don't know.
Two weeks ago in NYC, my wife and I saw a lady running (or trying to run) down the sidewalk on 8th ave in midtown...on a Saturday afternoon. Probably 45 minutes, we see a man and a woman doing the same on 5th Ave. My wife looks at me and says "Of all the places you could run in NYC, why would you choose some of the busiest streets? Why not just run a few extra blocks to the path on the water?"

Good point, they probably should have just taken an uber to the park rather than run there
I run in Central Park but don't live in Central Park wrote:

Bingo.
I’m beginning to think half the posters here have either never stepped off their treadmill or have always been privately chauffeured everywhere by the Secret Service.
I don't know, but where I live here in Hawaii. People do it in the middle of Waikiki. It's the busiest and most crowded city to go shopping in Hawaii. And there's literally 3 parks throughout the city of Waikiki. I always see joggers stretching out near the park and then start jogging toward to the city and head straight toward the crowded area. Unbelievable! I mean why jog through 30,000 people walking on the sidewalk, instead of jogging at the park where there is hardly anyone in front of you or around you? What if you run into someone, or a child or a pregnant lady that's shopping? I really want to know why would anyone run on a sidewalk full of crowded people, and go dodging through them like their obstacles? PEOPLE IT'S CALLED A "SIDEWALK", NOT A SIDERUN! Go to a park or run a treadmill in your hotel and avoid stupidness. When they have a marathon, where do the racers run? On the road! Not the SIDE"WALK". Even the racing organizations know that the runners shouldn't run on the sidewalk. Use common sense friends!
I wasn't jogging in crowded streets downtown, but I was walking fast. I was just staring blankly ahead, making my way, making my way through a crowd. 'Cause I'd walk a thousand miles just to see you tonight.
Is your first name fourbutttitspoop and last name butttits? Or is that Arabic or something?
Strange question. If you live downtown, are you supposed to teleport to the nearest park whenever you want to run? Even if 99% of your run is in a park or on a bike path, you're going to be on city streets for some amount of time traveling to/from that spot.
I run through downtown sometimes because my school is close and I can get a nice loop in. Sometimes its better than doing campus loops or an out and back on a random road
