USA blunderboy missed late game win. Not enough concentration drugs to last in sixth hour?
"Kramnik told me in France they're going to have a reality show. They will put some cameras in the coffin and there will just be a dead body in the coffin, with lights and cameras. Twice per day it will be 15 minutes on TV with highlights, and 24/7 on the internet. It's about as exciting as this game! "
Actually, the play is heating up with each successive game.
Anybody know who Caruana and Carlsen's seconds are?
Just to show how comical this "sport" is, the so-called "FIDE Drug Czar" (dr Jana Bellin) supposedly "had pity" on the players after the long Game 6, so didn't drug test them after it as per the protocol? Where is WADA to rebuke these sciolistic wannabes?
Giri was right: Carlsen could have saved almost 4 hours simply by repeating moves already at 11. Nf3

Tough break for Carlsen, as due to the delay he missed getting a third White after the drug tests, when they can fully dope, knowing there won't be a future PED test. For fairness, I think they should wait until after Game 8, to equalize the chances.
Mo Ashley was on Comedy Central, talking about how fit chess players have to be.
"We have another childish preparation by Magnus. When you’re preparing it should be like digging. When you dig a big hole you go the widest at the surface and the deeper you go the smaller it becomes, but his preparation is more like when you have a light, then actually the further you go the wider will be the light. Every time he just misses a move on move 1 or move 2 of his analysis with White. The most important thing is to check all possibilities at the very early stage, and then the deeper you go the less important it becomes. A lot of people do this mistake – they just start to analyse too late. You should start from the very beginning. It seems like already 10…Qd8 shocked him." (Grischuk, Game 7)
Might as well play tick tack toe.
Carlsen posted to Instagram a photo with a slight blood buildup under his left eye.
Is it a likely side-effect of PED drugs (or a con to get a TUE)...?
I nuked my original analysis.
But the premise was Carlsen rarely goes over 100 moves
with out the --repeating move rule-- he could get beat, with
the right calculation. Saw a post where Fabiano could've
mated in 30, ain't going to happen, you got to confuse Carlsen
and play like a poker player. I think there was a Kateryna Lagno
and Illya Smirin game (

),
holds the clue for blacks winning chances.
Good luck Fabiano (USA).
Usual idiot reporters ask "when did you understand it was a draw?" (chess chicks in FIDE studio also wondered the same), obviously it was clear to 1200 level kids chess, it was a draw from nonintersecting elephants.
"I understood it immediately. That doesn't mean you shouldn't play. I'm trying to entice him to play h5. And if does play h5 then I at least have a target. But obviously if he just keeps still and keeps his fortress just waiting for my king to enter then there's nothing. There's no harm in playing. I really don't understand the point [of the question]."
Talk about non interesting elephants.
This blitz game (last week) against 13 year old Indian GM Pragg.., vs GM Nakamura,
wow! What a blow to Naks ego. Note the very foreword moving style of Pragg, a future WChmp?
Nakamura cannot believe that he couldn't win this!
It would be fun to see Bekele in this World Championships. If you got all runners to do it Bekele would be the best. He is clever from his conglomerate of businesses he is running in Ethiopia so his brains must be really good. Most elites would be destroyed early on because they don't do anything apart from running. They are just taking naps and playing video games when they are not running. They have life so easy.
Almost everyone in Norway has some relationship to chess nowadays. It’s on T.V. and in newspapers all the time
In a country of around five million people, close to half a million play chess regularly online, according to the Norwegian Chess Federation
