no high schooler has every broken 4 in the 1600
Girl one mile, 5:03.xx
Boy one mile, 4:08.xx
Boy 4 x 440yd. relay, 3:24.xx
All pre-1980 before the h.s. 400m track. 440 yd. times, still faster than times on 400m track.

What are the rules about when and where you can set these 'records'? I busted all our school middle distance records but in open races for an athletics club so they wouldn't allow them. Therefor our list is meaningless (and carp).
Read the title you dbag. It says high school records, not your frilly club record.
Our 1600 record is listed as 4:37 and has stood since 1968. I'm not actually sure if that time is for 1600 meters or 1 mile (or a 1-mile time converted to 1600m), since Illinois didn't run the 1600 at state until 1980
3200 record is 9:45 and we've had only 1 runner ever break 10:00. Before 2013 our record was 10:05
800 record is 1:58 and that was set in 1974. Like with the 1600 I'm not sure if that's for 800 meters or 880 yards.
4x8 record is 8:06 and was set in 2000.
Our girls records are more recent. 11:55 in the 3200 (set in 2007), 5:29 in the 1600 (set in 2007 by the same girl), 2:21 in the 800 (2006), and 9:42 in the 4x8 (2005)
100m 10.7
200m 21.7
400m 48.9
800m 1:50.8
1600m 4:10
3200m 8:55
4x400m 3:17.8
4x800m 7:42
DMR 9:59
4xmile 17:28
No clue what the field records are
Shore Conference does a great job of keeping track of past records and performances in NJ... it ends in 2010, but at that point Milesplit comes into play.
Willingboro is clearly the most dominant, but today I would think Union Catholic would have eclipsed most of those performances, they’ve had great success in the sprints and mid distances recently.

You'd think one of the 2000 team 2:01 or whatever runners could have toughed out a mile faster than 4:37.
For Length, Width or girth?

I think all them trained only for shorter and middle distances in track. Only one of the 4 was a cross country runner (I think the other 3 all did soccer), and another one of the 4 had our 200 and 400 records (22.2 and 50.2) for a long time. Also that 8:06 was a huge improvement for that group compared to their previous races; they ran 8:19 at the Sectional and 8:13 in the state prelims.
The fastest 1600 I've ever actually seen someone from my school run was 4:41, which was ran by the same guy that ran the 9:45 3200.
