I will curate a “ goal race leaderboard” for anyone interested. It is hard to keep up w all the big races with the thread hopping as it is now ( a good problem)
If want included just list
Race/distance and date
Will get it rolling next week
RRR - Houston Half Marathon 1/20/19
PM - Discoveries Half Marathon Lisbon 12/2/18.
Congrats to RGM!!! That sub-3 bell keeps ringing in this thread!
I'm currently on a runner's high right now. My late late long run was one of the most amazing runs I've ever had.
Monday - 12km at 5:15 min/km. Did this with my father. He is going to do his first marathon in 2 weeks and we talked about the splits and the nutrition that he should apply. Some father/son bonding here which made me really happy!
Tuesday: planned rest. Went to the beach to check the world surf league series here in Portugal. Those guys do not love their lives...
Wednesday: 3x2k @ HM goal pace - 10s + 4x200m @ mile pace. 3,5k WU and 1k CD. Averaged 8:05; 8:07; 8:06 for the 2k and 40'' for the 200s. This was tough. Lots of wind and rain... The 2k were done alternating between 1k with headwind and 1k with a tailwind.
Thursday: 12k progressing from 5:20 min/km to 4:45 min/km.
Friday: 8k at 5:00 min/km
Saturday: 12x30'' (R1'). 3.5k WU and 2k CD. Average @ 3:10 min/k for the intervals.
Sunday: 18k at 4:58 min/km. This was, hands down, the best run I've ever had. No struggle, no wind, the temperature was perfect... I felt I could keep on forever! Runner's high is real right now...
It also marked my 1 year anniversary of running with a coach and it couldn't be a better way to celebrate it!
Nice week to everyone!
