He would be competitive for the title for NCAA XC.

He should be able to go well under 60 in the half now. This was 34 seconds ahead of his 10k track best from 2017.
Farah's half record is safe until next year, I would think, and Farah might well take the time down to around 59 flat, but the kid's got a shot next year if Mo doesn't do it.
Your thinking is totally illogical.
You seem to think that because this Oct 2018 10k race improved on his demonstrated 2017 10,000 ability, his half marathon ability is somehow going to be miles better than in Feb 2018.
It is also possible that he has shown all the improvement he is ever going to in the half marathon, and only just now got the opportunity to demonstrate the same improvement at 10k.
Your post is misleading. Wanders lowered the European 10 km record not the 10k record. The 10k or 10000 meters record is still 26:46 by Farah. Almost a minute faster
He should easily best his 10,000m time now!
Either that or he's got f all chance

The translated article is the best. "His time is an average of 2'46 per kilometer. Wanders seems to be increasingly benefiting from his meticulous preparation in Kenya, where he rubs himself to the best specialists."
Awful lot of conversation here consider literally no one cares what the road 10k record is. Or the road 5k. Especially when its a weak ass time to begin with.
Mo is a racer, times don't matter, titles do. Competitors have to try to run his kick out of him

Everytime the competition try that he still wins.
He would dominate NCAA XC

So he will probably dodge the really fast races like Dubai, Berlin, etc
This kid is really something. I saw him during my training weeks in Sankt Moritz this summer. Before i even had some breakfast he was already going really hard on the track with 2 or 3 kenyans. He's got the discipline and the talent so he will be a top european (maybe world) runner for the years to come.

Look at the other threads getting silly posts, and consider how important they are to track in general -- for example, one about a transgender cyclist winning at a cyclist competition....

Living and running in Switzerland for years (where hobby running is huge-not teams like in the US/UK, but individually), whenever I bring him up to my local running friends, almost nobody has heard of him. Seems you have to win the GP Bern and/or open a store to become famous here, à la Ryffel. Hardly anyone has heard of Christian Belz either, and he rocked in the NCAA and made the Olympics twice! Röthlin is famous because he hit it big in a few Champs and ran a big time in the Zurich Marathon, then started organising events and giving talks all over the place in Swiss events.
All that said, for those of us who do follow you Wanders, bravo! Tu es superb! Je peux pas attendre jusqu'à ton premiere essaie dans la Marathon! Ça va être genial (j'espere)!
