Wow. I had been off this thread today.
Watching Rachel Maddow now. Her first complaint is that she can't believe a sitting judge 'would speak that way in any setting'. To me that means he did well. Its very easy to me to see why a person would speak like that. If I was accused of a heinous crime I didn't commit I would speak the same. This guy's character was upheld as exemplary before this. Either he's the biggest fraud of all time or he believes a political hit was put on him. The timing has to increase his outrage if he's innocent.
There are only two possibilities. He's a total liar and predator or he's being accused of something heinous he didn't do.
Maddow is super partisan so her speaking out on Kavanaugh 's demeanor means to me he did better than she expected. She's got some good points about him saying he booted because he had an upset stomach not being believable. (I didn't see that part of his testimony)
Dr. Ford spoke well was my thought and general consensus. Then Kavanaugh did way better than I expected after hearing Ford (I heard his opening and a little after) . Before he spoke I'd probably bet his confirmation was in doubt or would have to be prolonged with more investigation. Now I think he might be confirmed as is.
Now Maddow is trying to claim Fords friend Keyser who filed a statement saying she wasn't at a party with Brett Kavanaugh and could be prosecuted for perjury if she is lying said she really didn't believe that and it was just something her lawyer did because Ford testified Leyland apologized to her. That was not my read at all. The statement was under oath. She was apologizing for not being able to back up her friends claim. Kavanaugh's strongest point is that the other witnesses Ford claim were at the party both deny under oath being at the party. Fill me in if I'm missing something? It's her word versus his with everyone she claims being there backing up his side in whether even the party took place.
