Not sure which one she cares about most, but there comes a time when any pro athlete's stock drops so much that they have to take what they can get, if they want to continue as a pro.
Agree that lots of sponsored athletes influence what shoes their sponsors make and they wear.
Remember when Hoka did not make spikes, but sponsored track racers?

I'd agree with this except altra's aren't foot shapped, they are caricature of a foot shape. Those of us without hobbit feet slosh around in them.
There's definitely some selection bias when it goes to altra fans impressions of the foot shape. You all have self-selected the shoes most likely because you have larger than average feet, that's why you think you're great.
TLDR You love altra because you have fat feet.
Or you "slosh around" because after years of pointy shoes your toes don't have gaps between them as they naturally should.
Try using Correct Toes to open the toes up a bit and run with Injinji toe socks. Once you start to adapt you won't ever go back.
Amen and amen. I switched to Altras and CorrectToes and was able to get rid of custom orthotics. Had to ease into the Altras and experience some calf soreness, but I did notice that I transitioned from being a heel striker to more of a forefoot striker. FWIW I have narrow feet, wear torin 2.5, and ran for a D1 XC team that is finishes in the top 10 at NCAA XC my senior year.
She did regularly post pictures of her mangled and bleeding toes which probably did not go over well. She just added a comment to Altra post that said her Sketchers contract ran out and they parted ways with no drama.
The ad that just appeared for Squat Magic with a blonde using some type of spring-loaded exercise device wouldn't be approved by the Afghanistan Ministry for Public Decency.
Back off topic, Kara does have a strong core her feet are likely not that attractive.

While I do not disagree with your post I will add that I have heard that it was curious that she did not post many social media stuff regarding Skechers on a regular basis. Now as an elite she may not have the same social media requirements a runner with lesser achievements performance wise. But when individuals from Skechers will comment that they wish she would at least post half as much as other OTQ runners with a contract containing only product and some travel stipends, it makes you wonder if possibly the departure was a mutual one.

Simply with them for the money, not the shoes. Same thing with Altra. She's an attention/money whore. Suckers fall for it. Some have true passion and some are less obvious. She's a whiner who never truly did that much.

That may be but there was brutal competition when Ms. Goucher was racing. Only one can be on top of the pointy peak.

Brutal? No way.
No, look at the 2008 Olympic 10,000. She ran her best ever and got 10th, that's a fact.
The marathon is even more competitive now. She was highly overrated and played the "I'm cute look at me" well. Shalane has had a way better career. Heck, Hasay ran 2:20:57 at Chicago and Goucher never once approached that time.
Made major excuses after every marathon claiming she should have ran faster to get away. She didn't because she couldn't, she simply got beat by better runners.
Joannie was better, way better! 83 Boston. 84 Olympics. 85 Chicago.
Kara Goucher came along with the rise in social media and she pounced on it and is still doing it today. She did NOT have an amazing career but had amazing timing. Her best marathon was just breaking 2:25 with 9 attempts at the distance. That's not amazing and her Osaka medal came because of a weak field...look what happened 12 months later.

The 10k has gotten even faster since 2008. Just look at the current depth. Marathon has gotten faster as well. Jordan would have beaten her by a country mile!
Haven't tried the shoes but they look good ...

I would not day that LRC is the running community. We're the crowd that wakes up at 3am to watch some people chase a fast half marathon in Europe. We've also gotta be well over 90% male on this website. I don't think Altra is looking at our demographic to be honest when the majority of folks are doing 2 hrs for half marathons and 4 hrs for a full. The way you see Kara is totally fine, it's your opinion, but there are women all over the place who could not tell you much about the current top US distance runners but know who Goucher is. Kara is still an inspiration to a ton of people out there, just dropped a book, and is a hit at whatever running expo you send her to. The Trump guy said he races 10-15 times a year BUT he does not have the following Kara Goucher has. The difference is that she has followers, even if as a male who is as far into the sport as one can get does not see who her crowd is. Her crowd is also a lot nicer than the folks who lurk around here.
she played it as good as you could at the time.....she is waaaay to old, washed up and al sals used goods to pull the new style insta hoe style.....but im sure if she was on the scene now...yeah lots of soft core shots, and al sal wouldnt be the only one getting action.
imagine how much more play suzy favor would have gotton if she had had instagram? man o man
SS vid now on youtube
I'm betting Suzy does in fact have Instagram and has for some time.

I wouldn't say we are salty haters. WE ARE the running community. You see - we pay attention to top end runners do and react appropriately. Kara had all of her respect lost by the community here when she trashed Galen after the last Olympic trials but more so the fact that she seems like an unreal amount of drama (Runners HATE drama). Lastly we can all look through her lies to see that she had some kind of affair or big falling out with Alberto and she was seeking revenge by trying to sabotage literally every top end runner that belonged to NOP. She legit sucks and needs to retire with her 1:15+ half marathoning A$$.

Kara has 170k followers on Twitter and 140k on IG. She's an icon in the running world. It's a hard reality for some that LRC is not representative of the running community. We're more like the 1%-ers. Plenty of people love Kara and she can bring a brand a ton of exposure without competing every weekend. Just because you're a man, you visit this website, and you don't like her, doesn't mean that's how the running community feels about her. You ever seen a line to meet her at a race expo?

Try the Escalante Racer.
this for sure! really look at what she did compared to her many predictions. she was overrated for sure and arrogant as they come.
