So the next important question is when will the coaching god, Alberto Salazar, allow Jordan to tell the running world that she will not be competing in Chicago.
My guess is three weeks prior to the race. What do you think?

She won't announce. Ken Goe will "break" the story.
What proof is there that she isn't running?
She is waiting for Amy Cragg to announce first. Nike wants to create the right buzz at the right time.
Depends on the appearance fee contract. Does she get the same money if she drops right now compared with dropping after starting and running a few miles and then saying that she knew she wasn't 100% but that she'd give it a try only to have the injury resurface so she didn't want to cause long term damage but thanks to all my fans for supporting me #inspiration #chicagomarathon #runnike #justdoit. ?

That's a great question. Also have to wonder if Chicago organizers are complicit in this sort of thing, because it allows them to continue to use Jordan to promote the race. Then once they have everyone's money and eyeballs they can say, oh what a shock and a bummer, Jordan drops out.

All these running injuries are caused by the terrible modern running shoes that came out since the 1970's.
Prior to that, all this plethora of mysterious injuries to runners didn't happen, and runners raced all the time, with impunity.

A lot of truth in this type of approach from big races, getting free advertising from the sporting press before the big name star "withdraws through injury". Back in 2014, the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow were hard selling tickets hard on the back of Mo Farah racing. I know one of the GB endurance coaches who told me that he had no intention of running at those games. Funnily enough, he withdrew with an "injury" the week before.
Punters should have been able to get their money back as they were sold under false pretences.

Poor people are poor because they are stupid. How much are tickets to watch Chicago marathon? How many people pay to run a marathon because of who’s racing it? Her name helps sell the marathon in general, if she runs or not is meaningless to everyone but her. Mostly some runners would be happy if she shows up to the expo etc.; she doesn’t need to run and everyone gets what they paid for. You idiots with your conspiracy theories deserve your low place in life.
3 weeks prior to Chicago the announcement comes!

It's a bummer anytime a top american can't race.
She's pictured on race banners hanging from light posts all over Grant park that have been up for weeks along the lakefront so it's not like they are going to take those down. But not having her a top american race and finish well probably hurts more for the following year than it does at this point for this year.
