Regardless, I repeat:
It bothers me as a runner who would prefer runners faster than I made headlines the old fashioned way - being good. It also bothers me as a woman who wishes other women sought publicity for merit, not cheap controversy.
Run all you want. Breastfeed all you want. Don’t use the latter to grab attention for the former because you’re a mediocre runner but crave the spotlight.
Yes, a woman breastfeeding should not raise eyebrows, but it does. If you want to make it your pet project to make breastfeeding in public the non-event it should be, run for office and break out your pump at your political rally. Don't bring your agenda to a sporting event where media attention given to women athletes should be centered around our performance, not our ability to lactate.
