Low 50s with (light) rain is the dream. I'd like to place a lock on that rate
+1. Will be great weather for running shirtless.
Where would you pin your bib then? ?

Directly to his chest. angryjohnny isn't called angryjohnny without reason. This helps him to race on pure hate.
Temp looks amazing but want to see that wind situation go away (seeing upwards of 20 mph). 11 days to go! Is it too much to ask for high 40s/lows 50s with low humidity and low wind???
I'm rooting for you too, Smoove. This slow old lady will be shuffling through a little local half-marathon 2000 miles away that morning, but I'll be looking for a race report and hoping for good weather for you.
Yeah bro...that wind gonna suck...BUT for the portion in the loop we'll be OK and if you can PACK UP we can make out OK.
Thanks for the support amkelly and Karl. I'm bib 638 (I've never really been too careful about hiding my identity here).
Wind would suck for me as I'm a thin dude with a long stride, but we had 10 mph winds in 2015 and they weren't noticeable. Up to 20 is a big difference though, but pack it up and you can avoid a lot of the downside.
I would say that you may want to consider upping your calorie intake in race though. My only bonking experience was NYC in 2014 - crazy winds and I think I expended more energy than I expected to because I had to fight the wind so much. Nothing like making eye contact with friends and family in Central Park and not remembering it.

And here come the excuses. Right on cue. For those of you that would rather pull for an underdog, bib 5242 is your guy.

No, they can't be that accurate on the wind speed over a week out. Wait till next Thursday or Friday. Way to early for that part of a weather forecast.

Excellent. Are you going to be at the Starbucks on the corner of state and 35th?
Somewhere around that area. Look for the 400lb old man in Hoka's wearing bright pink. Not sure about the pompom's yet but I'll bring sass with a capital S to the south side.

What????? 400 pound man wearing bright pink????? I hope you're joking.
I will not be bodyshamed or be made fun of for my 45 minute 5k kind sir.
The question is, will Rupp still race if the weather is not favorable? I mean looking at boston, I doubt salazar would want him to have another massively sub par race.
"No excuses" weather this year.
Folks we're finally in the 10 day forecast.
47-65°F, mostly cloudy, chance of drizzle, winds 7-10mph
Gotta love seeing that overnight low creep down into the 40s.
The forecasted conditions are about what we said we would pay good money for if we could get a weather guaranty. This should be awfully similar to the weather we had in 2015, maybe 5 degrees cooler (the temp was about 60 degrees at the end of the race that year).

It was closer to 65 by the time I finished in 2015 and there was a lot of sunlight / not much shade in the second half. I remember being very warm towards the end. 5 degrees cooler w clouds would be real nice, Clark.
Forecast is looking great, except for a bit of wind. Looks about 50 at the start, high of 60 for the day. Winds start at 5 mph from the NNW, so a slight head wind at the start, and then picks up slightly and shifts to the NE by the end of the race for most runners. Wind should stay under 10 mph for the race. And could be a tailwind for most of the 2nd half.
Sounds amazing. This is going to be great PB weather for many runners!
I know it's too early for hourly (or even daily) forecasts to mean anything, but I'd like to share a view that I always use when planning workouts:
https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/il/chicago
You can use the "Customize" button to add things like Dew Point and Cloud Cover and then mouse over each hour.
For instance, it currently looks like:
8am: 51 degrees, 6mph NNW, 22% cloud cover, 18% precipitation
9am: 54 degrees, 7mph NNW, 22% cloud cover, 17% precipitation
10am: 56 degrees, 7mph NNW, 23% cloud cover, 16% precipitation
You can get the same information elsewhere but I like this view.
This forecast is giving me wood. After Boston we deserve this.
