It's not a troll post, a lot of kids on my team do this to, and where i live it's like 40 degrees at midnight which i consider perfect weather, ur actually siced if u think this is a troll post
i just got back from a late night run.. it's amazing, the air is nice and coolish warm and smells fresh, it's peaceful without all the traffic and people, the stars and moon above you, it feels like I was just flying soaring like an eagle right above water.
OK, that's fantastic. Now, come back after few weeks of running your long runs at midnight and tell us how your other running days went. Like the day after the long run, the next day, etc. If you are an evening runner, you might tolerate it just fine, but if you have to run on other days in the early mornings, you'd feel it, and most probably it would negatively influence your recovery, thus also your overall training. Especially, if you have trouble sleeping after a night run.
I occasionally do it, because some of my long time running friends cannot (are lazy) to run early in the morning, so we meet late at night and have a social run, sometimes up to 2-3 hours. It wreaks a havoc on my usual routine, and it takes up to 4 days to recover (usually 1-2 days after my long runs at much faster pace I am fine).
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
