I like this Lyles guy. He's fast, entertaining and as charismatic as Bolt. Only problem is he won't reach superstar status in his own home country which is a key ingredient for being the face of the sport.

Hassan looks kinda cute with that hair.

I bet we don't see Semenya running the 1500m again.
That was brutal. She looked like just another wannabe who took it out fast and faded at the end.

Semenya sandbagging? S/he should be able to run 3:49.
Shelby looked good. Not every day can one beat the clean WR holder.
There is zero evidence that Semenya can run more than a second or two faster than her current PR, and if you saw Paris last week, you'd know she isn't sandbagging.
Shelby! Called it in the other thread, hopefully this should convince any remaining doubters of her potential. Hope to see her winning medals for years to come.

Yes letsrun invents the reality it wants to believe. Semenya is no better than 1:53/3:56
Some real smoke shows in that 4x1
Glad to see her and Muir beat dodgy competitors fair and square!!!!

I agree, within a second of her pb so much more likely that is her natural limit as she is totally the wrong morphology to be a really good 1500m runner imho.
Funny how both a win in 1.54 and a poor 6th place in 4.00 can BOTH prove everyone's theories correct!
She once took silver and they called it sandbagging. So now 6th is evidence of sandbagging? jeeze what a bunch of clowns.

This meet is too sprint heavy.
No different than your typical DL meet. Track 10Ks are rare and will become even rarer with the absence of a main attraction like Mo. Also, heat and altitude would not have attracted the top 10k athletes. I think meets have to comply with the IAAF DL standard for the table of events which gives meet directors the leeway to only substitute one event. The substitute event is going to be market driven...expect to see a lot of 400 hurdles.

She does not have any connection to NOP

What ever happened to the two Kenyan low hurdlers, Nicholas Bett and Boniface Tumuti? Haven't seen them around in a while
They came from out of nowhere and appear to be disappearing in the same fashion. There is a lot of weird stuff going on in Africa and the Carribean these days.

700 - 1:51
800 - 2:06 high or 2:07 low
1100 - 2:55
1200 - 3:11

Shelby on the JUICE
If you have watched her over the last couple of years, you should have seen this coming. - Unless you think she was doping in the NCAA.
For a colllege runner like Gabby Thomas who pays for her and the Harvard coach to attend the meet.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
