Ritz admitted to receiving L-carnitine injected directly into his blood in over the allowable volume of fluid per day. I believe he admitted to doing this on multiple occasions. He literally admitted to a doping infraction, received no punishment, and then Hansons gave him a pro contract to be a professional runner on a team that everybody had respect for. Tarnishes a good name that Desi worked hard for. Wouldn't you be pissed? I understand leniency since Ritz spoke, and generally people like him, but he cheated, and you don't need a positive test when he actually testified that he did something in direct violation of anti doping rules.

Ritz testified to himself being given more than the allowable amount. He himself believed he was given more than the allowed amount. Nobody else made that claim but Ritz.
He also had a breakout year on the track resurging to try and qualify for the 10k when everyone had counted him out. This was happening at that exact time. The correlation is so strong that we could almost call it causation, except with running obviously the training is important, too. Then around this same time Farah and Rupp go 1-2 in the Olympics. I don't understand how anyone can walk away with a good feeling for the NOP when you start putting factual, demonstrable puzzle pieces like this together.
Regarding Desi, she had a good career with the Hansons. She put in the work. Now she's finally on the stage where she can demand more and after having earned it why shouldn't she put herself out there and see what offers she receives?
