I'm truly shocked this thread, or the majority of posts, haven't been deleted yet. It's refreshing. This seriously is some of the funniest stuff I've read on LetsRun. Maybe the Johnson brothers have a sense of humor after all? Long live the legend of Reed Fischer!
don't worry boys, I've got pages 1-3 downloaded, just in case. Hit me up if you ever need them.
I bumped into Reed Fischer one time on the Tufts campus. I was going for a late night snack when he emerged from the bedroom of one Jaime Norton. At the time Jaime's mile pr was 4:22, and all the other runners used to taunt him for his slowness. Reed paused, gave me a spine-shattering wink, then slipped smoothly away into the night.
The rest, as they say, is history.
This thread is a guilty pleasure
Guessing he and Austin overlapped by a year at Drake. Amazing to have 2 guys come out of a college that nobody ever heard of. It should help Mark Carroll in his future recruiting efforts.

What a guy.
Please post your Reed Fischer thoughts, well wishes, anecdotes and the like here.
So in a race where the only point was winning, as it wasn't a qualifier meet and thus most big guns skipped it, he led but didn't win, place, or show? Like you need to break 9:40 in high school to do that? What am I missing here about this perennial also ran, what's so damned remarkable? You gotta be super desperate for a hero if you're choosing this guy.

He ran a 9:23 at the section 6AA meet his senior year.
