Double up on sports bras.
Not sure if youre a troll because I'm really surprised that a soccer player would come on letsrun for advice...This is actually how I found out how much I loved running. To make a college soccer team I had to run a 630 mile. (The year prior I don't think I broke 730...I was actually a midfielder but could barely break 730). Long story short I followed the coaches conditioning summer program which certainly included a lot of weight lifting, agility, and track workouts (I had NEVER done track workouts). I also watched what I ate (but make sure you eat enough but just healthier). I stayed away from drinking which makes you more of an outcast in the soccer world but who cares...Anyway I ended up running around a 530 mile and was the first one done at tryouts...so I made the team. However, I was pretty scrawny at that point...and got my ass kicked by girls twice my size. A few years later I realized I had more of a runners personality and it just fit me better. You have to be a relentless worker to be a runner and have patience (especially in distance)...you have to have power and quickness (both in being a quick decision maker and having more fast twitch) to be a soccer player. 800m runner would maybe make a good soccer player. Good Luck!
You are frankly too fat.
Try shot-put instead, way too heavy at your age for this to be anything but exactly who you are. Embrace it.
This is why US soccer is so terrible. Who gives a brown human waste product if you can run a 5:30 mile. That this fact got you on the team... lol.
Find a wall, kick the ball off it, trap the rebound or hit it back first time. When your control and accuracy is sharp, do the same thing to your opposite leg. This will make you an order of magnitude superior footballer.

It’s extremely rude to straight up unhelpful to say somebody is too fat for sport, if people try hard that can change and it can change fast. Im sorry but the way you are talking to this girl is awful, it surprises me daily how a lot of people come on here and havent even developed an IQ high enough to speak to people in a dignified manor. People like you are the reason girls starve themselves, develop unhealthy habits or get discouraged and quit sport.
To the OP: Yes, I would agree with the above post in certain ways like the fact that losing weight will be beneficial to your running times and football conditioning but you need to do it healthily otherwise you’ll lose a ton of strength (which is needed for football) and it will just not work. You need to be eating high protein (30g per meal) about least 3 times a day and also you enough calories and nutrients to stay healthy. See a nutritionist or dietition to determine how many calories are right for you to be losing weight.
Screw what that other poster said about trying shot put. If you want to focus on football, chase your dreams girl - if you put in the effort you should be down to a 7:30 mile in a few months. Maybe sooner.
You should build up to running 3 miles a day (and eventually 5) at 10:30-11 minute mile pace. Start doing this now and keep at it for a month to build a base. After this, start adding high intensity work like 400 repeats.
Ovr the next few months, you can also do a lot of supplemental bike riding (dont be afraid of the hills as this builds strong quads)which will help with building an aerobic base.
You are right. But wrong about women’s soccer in the states. US and Canada are super competitive. This was for a DI team and the coach had me on pretty much because of how hard I worked. I never got to play I was a practice player. But, this is also why I would have had more success had I known I was actually more of a distance runner. But you live and learn!
If the coach is a guy, give him a hummer and salad toss, and you’re in like Flynn.
Actually I take the comment back about being right...you're actually full of horse manor yourself. The point is you have to be strong and quick to be a soccer player. If she works on this in the summer and commits she's going to get fitter. A good coach will recognize this work ethic and want it around. She's 5"10 this can be an advantage. Because she was a goalie she likely has a great ability to read the game (because goalies pretty much are always trying to think steps ahead which will be an advantage on the field. What one poster put about 400m runs is good. Also doing some 100-200m runs in there and even 800m. Yes you have to have tactical skills but that's a small part of it. You have to have a good touch on the ball when pressure is on and have an ability to read plays before they happen the higher you climb in the sport. Like I said she likely will find her keeper experience will help her. Peace out LR fart heads and good luck to the OP. Just try your best and work hard!
I promise I'm not a troll, just really desperate. I decided to come on this forum because it was the first option and running related. Thanks for all your advice!
Will do! Thanks for your advice. I agree about the first part, but there's nothing I can do except training hard.
Thanks so much for this. It really does mean a lot to me. It really encourages me to not let the doubters get to me. Now I'm even more motivated to make this team! I will take this advice and use it to the best of my ability! Thanks so so so much!

Don’t listen to them. Apparently, anybody who is slower than 5 in the mile and 18 in the 5k who asks for advice is “trolling” because theyre considered “too slow to take serious”.
You get some real douches on this website.
Thanks so much. This will help me so much! I appreciate it!
