I once read that it’s best to have a couple of pairs of daily trainers and to alternate them daily. Supposed to help prevent injury, I hear.
How much truth is there to this?
Zero truth, according to someone that works in product testing, but not for a brand. If you have different shoe models for different runs and workouts that makes sense, but you don’t need to give your shoes the chance to recover any more than the tires on your car.
You have been fed a line by shoe companies and retailers to move product.
I also think if you rotate shoes they should be similar in offset.
I tried shoes with 10mm offset for long and easy runs and kept my streak LT as my hill sprint and tempo shoe...I noticed my form changed in the streaks and I was banging my heel more.
Everyones different but id siggest sticking to at the very least same offset...But thats my .02
This makes sense. If you normally get 2 months out of a pair of shoes, if you alternate 2 pairs you'll get 4 months out of each pair. You win.

Alternating shoes makes them last a hell of a lot longer.
