This will make top coaches very nervous. Sounds like a Slagowski in the making. To be this overboard indicates that he is already training at a collegiate level.

guys, relax. the kid ran 2 races in 2 days. i think he is going to be ok. very impressive, nonetheless.

If two hard races in two days qualified as over-racing, state championship meets would be destroying runners left and right. Top kids often run two open races along with prelims and relay legs at states.
I hear ya, and second that notion.

seriously. people are acting like this is something he does every weekend or something. if he's so brittle that this is a career ender, it was probably going to happen pretty soon regardless.
Is he a senior? didn't read the article.
A nice way to round out HS, if so. Who cares. Let the kid do it.
I doubt that he has done it before but even doing it once indicates that he is in top shape. It also indicates that he has Parents who supported it. I doubt that many coaches or parents would have supported this decision. He is obviously very talented because this was an amazing feat. We immediately jump to the future though because we like to be correct about predicting results. I predict that he will go on to be a 14 flat college runner who will be 6-7 man on a good xc team. We will forget about him unless he becomes a 13:40 runner.

Still a solid 2 days though
3 major races in 3 states in a week. Impressive but not a recipe for success.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
