So all the other high school cross country runners have meets going on but this troll gets to travel back and forth across the country from where?
He said he is from the east coast. Our XC team has only had 1 meet so far so I’m not sure why it would be a problem for him to travel twice early in the season?
Thanks for all the help! I’m going to make my decision next week. I got a lot of great info from my visits and from this site. If there is anything else you can add, I would love to hear it. The decision is going to be very tough but I really think I can’t lose either way.
I am going to make my decision on Wednesday!
Awesome. Verbal commitment, right?

Yes, because you can't sign until November.

So? What happened?
After a lot of soul searching and review of the offers I received from both Texas and Texas A&M, I have decided to open up my recruiting to another school. I was contacted by Michigan and will be going on a visit there next week. Information about the team and school would be appreciated. How does it compare to UT and A&M?
Don’t wait on any Texas school or Michigan. Wait till Mark Wetmore comes to your house and rocks you to sleep. Shhhh goodnight troll.
I looked at Colorado early but decided that it would be too cold most of the year.
The Aggies might make you shave your head. They love stuff like that. I think it's the residue of the faux military zeitgeist there, with perhaps an underlayer of homoeroticism.
I was at A&M a few weeks ago and none of the guys on the team had their heads shaved. We did see some of the military guys at the midnight yell the night before the game. They were really cool.
Take a look at the freshmen. Again, you might not care, but then again, you might.
I met all of the freshman guys and they are really cool.
I had this same dilemma, UT or A&M, back 10+ years ago. Somebody once told me, when you see Texas, you probably won’t want to go to A&M.
After visiting, I found this to be 100% true (although A&M is a great school in its own way).
Austin just has a lot more to offer in my opinion. Yeah there are a lot of strange hippies and that’s fine (actually found it kind of interesting to experience during my college years). I must say though, as a runner, the scenic hill country and 300 sunny days a year is hard to beat.
Overall, it’s likely that you will find UT to be a place that will demand excellence in all ways and likely surround you with a very driven group of individuals both in class and athletics.
As you probably know, each school is great and your success will be completely dependent on your individual goals and effort.

This is one of the most elaborate troll jobs in quite a while. Congrats!

A lot of teams decide to cut their hair before the season or when going to a big race. It is a sign of solidarity, not hazing or creepy behavior. Traditions are an important part of team identity.

No, I just added Michigan. I didn't take Texas or A&M off my list. I intend to decide after my last visit this weekend.
