Don't forget the highest income, which can be substituted with the value of your home.

Yuki beat Rupp in Boston, so by head to head victories his win is better. Also having more DNF's should be the first thing to eliminate Rupp from the tiebreak.
Do you really think Rupp could care? His compensation has nothing to do with this sh*t.

This is probably accurate. Rupps compensation is probably locked-in for his lifetime. It probably makes little difference to his children how he finishes from this point forward in WMM events. He and is family are good to go.

Daniel Wanjiru beat Yuki Kawauchi in the 2017 WC marathon. So by this criteria Daniel Wanjiru was third.
Wanjiru beat Yuki, but Yuki beat both WMM 2nd placer Kirui and Rupp in a single race. Yuki wins on head-to-heads. That was the rationale given in the official press release. Wanjiru also only beat Yuki by 3 seconds. Yuki beat Kirui by >2 min and knocked Rupp out. Yuki>Wanjiru for this ranking.

Outside of the WMM races does Kawauchi have the most marathon career wins among active athletes? He races a heck of a lot and he generally seems to win. He is undefeated in marathon races so far in 2018.
