They are completely different. I haven't worn the Clifton 4 but I have worn multiple pairs of the Clifton 3. The zoom fly don't really offer a lot of toe space if thats what you're after.
The Zoom fly has a lot of cushion but is very stiff, whereas the Cliftons have a lot of soft cushion. Stack heights feel similar but the Cliftons feel more stable due to being wider.
In my opinion the Zoom fly feel at their best when running on a straight road. I think the Clifton are a good all around shoe. Both are different but compliment each other well. Zoom fly for fast days and Cliftons for everything else.
Hoka makes sh**** shoes for hobby joggers.
