Yes, Rupp himself said that weather wasn't going to be a factor because cold and rain was normal in Oregon.
And Hasay said her foot wasn't a problem.....
And Salazar said he's a pure as snow.
You can say whatever you want.

Is that a joke? Rupp does as little work - zero work - in every race I've ever watched him run. Salazar has taught Mo the same - do zero work and then outkick people.
When does Rupp run from the front?
not sure about that wrote:

Rupp has never been a tough runner.
This is literally the first time I can remember Rupp failing to meet or exceed expectations.
Lololololololol

Then they’d never run a quality marathon before.

Also, you really think Rupp has won all of his races? He's had plenty of races where he's finished 5th-15th place. The one that comes to mind is that Turkey Trot he ran in 2016 where he was having some asthma problems.
Not at all. On the track we was often outkicked but rarely, if ever, dropped. On the roads, the same. Rupp has never dropped out of a race as far as I know, except once indoors when he hurt his foot. If he has an asthma condition, it might affect his performance, but it doesn't cause him to drop out of races like he did today.
Are you joking?
His nickname was DNF Galen because he DNFed so much, including at the DN Galan Diamond League.
You misspelled Ritz

Rupp diamond league DNFs include Eugene, Stockholm, and Monaco. He also DNSd Stanford, of course.
Anyone who says he finishes what he starts hasn’t paid attention.

Rupp typically likes to run from the front. While that may work when you are having your best day and there is no head wind, with weathher like yesterday, you have to change your tactics. He should have just hid in the pack or sat on someone's shoulder the first 30-35k, then gone into beast mode. As for clothing, Kawauchi was the best dressed. When you're racing, you wear less, not more. Who wants to carry the extra weight or have the extra wind resistance. Not sure about the asthma thing so I don't have that.
Congrats to Yuni and Desi.
In dozens of races I don’t think I have EVER seen Rupp frontrun against real competition. (Not the Portland half marathon trot.)
Marathon trials? Sat on Meb.
Olympics? Has never led a step.
Please indicate when Rupp has front-run against an elite field.
Rupp does what he have to do to win races, like the rest of the world.
If you call that portland HM a trot I don't know what to say about your own pb's (considering that you are a runner..).

And here we have a bunch of dudes who are runners making weather excuses about running 26.2 miles in the cold rain all while claiming that they would crush Ranger School! Too funny!
Entirely different scenario. Stupid comparison.

Like the Olympic marathon?
Rupp leading and running from the front?? Haha, might be getting him mixed up with Ryan Hall
There are plenty of examples of him toughing it out in difficult conditions and being a gamer. There are also plenty of examples of him dropping out and performing below his capabilities. It's almost as if he is human.
Here's what happens when you dodge the competition (London) to win Boston against a weak field.
Bad choice. Still a 2:09 guy.

He's dropped out of other races before But like I said, If you are having problems and you are not even half way through a 2+ hour race, it might not be a good idea to even attempt to finish. I'm sure Rupp knew that, as did his team. I believe they probably made the smart decision.

I'd say he was dropped at the 2010 Pre, when he finished next to last in the National Mile. He was 10th, 10 seconds ahead of Will Leer.
I'm pretty sure he got dropped in the 10,000 at the Payton Jordan that year, too.
He's got a great record, but it's great, but it's not perfect. Nobody's is.

You must be new here. Nobody here thinks Rupp is human. 1/2 of us think he's an angel, the other 1/2 think he's a devil.
You know what I'd like to see just once. The mention that the non elites have been dealing with the same injuries, the same sicknesses, the same stress reactions, the same breathing problems and every other problem building up to the big race, that the elites deal with. When your coaching the nobody and he passes the big dog and wins....well then it starts, the elite was running with this injury and this sore throat and on and on. What the hell do you think the nobodies have been dealing with the last couple months! Usually even worst. I just think a guy like Rupp, should just say ....Hey I got beat by them all and thats it! When they say we heard you had this problem and that problem....just once, the elite should say YEA, but what do you think the other guys were dealing with all this time, the same stress reactions, sicknesses etc etc. The just kicked my butt and thats that.
Who?

Its way easier to PR in bad conditions when your fastest time is 3:15 or something than when it's 2:09
