I heard them talking about the temps but did they notice that's a direct headwind. I heard the wheelchair guy do it.
Do the announcers know we can hear what they are saying on break? The play by play guy just said he needs a bathroom break.
Ernst Van Dyke mentioned the wind.

Weird they started these only 12 minutes apart.
Means they'll finish within roughly 5 minutes of one another. But I guess that would be the same if they just had a mass start.
They are only 4 minutes behind the women now! I want to see Ritz outkick the women's leaders down the straightaway
With a half marathon they should focus on less things.
They're showing us the 2nd wave and yet the races are almost over.
Here we go. Finally showing a split screen, oh wait, they go to interview the women's wheelchair winner.
How about having her in an tiny screen in the upper corner of the screen and showing the races? When they interview and NBA Coach and the game resumes that's what they usually do.
This is without doubt the worst coverage of a race I have ever witnessed.
Both races finally picked up mile 9

My favorite was when they posted a tweet complimenting them on showing a split screen, while they were showing only the women....
Since the broadcast is doing an amazing job of missing the entire race.

I really hope these races have their execs go back and watch the broadcast. The Tokyo international feed a few years ago was the worst. One of the announcers barely spoke English. But I guess if they race director watched and didn't know English he might not figure that out either ;)
Wow. These races are slow.
At 15k men on 1:03:30 pace, women 1:14
This is such terrible coverage. We didn't even see the breaks.
I woke up 10 min. ago (8:12 a.m.), rushed to my computer to see the race, thinking I missed most of it. No worries....if I was up from the start, I STILL would have missed most of it. Potentially, is this the WORST coverage of a race **EVER*?
Sisson looking good ?

Yes. I hope it continues. The men could finish almost on top of the women as they started 12 minutes apart. It would highlight a) the differences between the sexes but more importantly b) how stupid it is to start them so close together.
Someone get a clock on it.
Men are letting it rip. Last 3 miles all under 4:45.

Interesting neither Diriba nor Mekonen has gloves on. 29 degrees without gloves.

NO. This is what I think the average race coverage is like. Ok, this is worse but all races miss the break.
Darn, women aren't going to get caught by the men.
Let's go Sisson!!!
