This is depressing, I'm a sh!t hobby jogger!
"Hobby jogger."
Thread closed, end of argument. Until the next time posts another identical thread.
Is it better to run for a set distance or time?
How far is it around the track?
How many miles is that?
Bro, stop saying fartleks, I'm straight.
Which bluetooth headphones should I get?
Which running shoes should I get?

everyone posting here is a hobby jogger! You don’t get paid to run. It’s your hobby.
So unless you’re 1:45, 3:35, 13:15, 27:20, or 2:08 you are a hobby jogger.
So either post your PR or you are $hit a hobby jogger would say.

Actually I get paid, my office pays me .25 for every mile to run. I donate the $ to a local charity.
So am I still a hobby jogger?
Proceed...
But you’re still a Hobby Jogger. Just a charitable one.
"What hydration pack should I use for my upcoming 10K road race?"
I finished a half marathon a few months ago (around 20th place?) and one of the finish line volunteers tried to hand me a finisher's medal.
I said no thanks.
He looked offended and said, "Then what's the point?!"

There is a difference between hobby joggers and people who actually run or train in some serious manner.
Hobby joggers are those that think breaking 4 hours is fast for a marathon. That sub 20 is fast for a 5k. That they need to have the latest and greatest gear, and they believe it will make them run faster. Hobbyjoggers are the people you see with fuel belts or hydration packs out on a 6 mile "long run" on flat ground.
Need any more examples?
Yasso 800s.

"I'm so incredibly mad about this (no finisher jackets). I'm heading down to New Orleans this weekend, running my second ever marathon and the ONLY reason I was going was for the jacket promised to me at the expo LAST YEAR when I signed up."

They're just stupid college kids posting. Most won't be running after age 25 anyway. Lol.

It's too easy to pile on the people who do the Rock N Roll races, but I'll add another I've read "No way will I ever do the Rock N Roll Washington DC Full. There is a 5 hour and 30 minute time limit!"

No, you are the perfect example.
I can't run easy, it's too hard
Hey hobby joggers are great! If a person chooses running as their hobby and gets and stays fit in the process that means better health and lower health care. They are the ones that support the shoe industry with their consumer dollars. Many of our great races would not exist with out there participation.
Go joggers.
There should be a "Sh!t smug LR'rs say to defend hobbyjoggers" thread, and this could be the lead quote.
