Not a big fan of Praught. She is from IL, ran HS in IL, and went to college in IL. I doubt that she even knows where Jamaica is. She is a US citizen, married to an American, and she lives in the US.

insert your favorite conspiracy theory here, both british women in the 400 finish 3rd in their heat (top 2 only, no time qualifiers), but in each case a woman head of them gets DQd and the brits get advanced.
dq two of the best runners that leaves the to usa athletes favourite?

i was being sarcastic with my initial post, but lets be serious here. The US girls were probably favorite for 1-2 anyway (maybe sprunger mixing in there).
what a great LJ competition, echevarria didnt back down when manyonga came back at him. Nice set of cajones on the young Cuban.

Most other people are smarter than you and know where their home country is.

Definitely add Bahta to the final, whether or not Quigley is DQ'd for her actions.

depends on how you define "home country". While the initial post was a bit over-the-top, Praught was born and raised in IL, competed in USA championships (11th in 2013 steeple) and only started competing for Jamaica in 2015. She does have a Jamaican birth father, although didnt have any interaction with him until the last few years, so i assume she was a Jamaican citizen from birth. I have nothing against her as a person, but there is really no denying that she took the path of least resistance when it comes to what national team she competes for.
Where did the Spanish 400m runner Husillos come from?

What's your point? I'd do the same thing if I had the choice. She was not a Jamaican citizen until 2015 by the way, but who cares. At least she's actually good enough to make finals and isn't just scraping by with the standard.

wouldn't everyone on this board compete for any country they legally could if it meant they could compete in the Olympics?!
i sure as sh*t would
or is everyone a purist with too high of "ethical" standards and would pass up the chance at the olympics to keep living in near poverty, training with no award or ultimate achievement, running times just fast enough to qualify for the trials?
you would ALL do it if it was Olympics or nothing.
If not, i say you're an idiot.

she may not have taken citizenship until 2015, but i would be she was eligible from birth thanks to her dad.
Also where did i pass judgment on what she did with the citizenship switch? I was just pointing out what should be an indisputable fact. I have no problem with switching allegiances to a country where you have parental blood ties (i.e no Kenyans to turkey), provided that you have not previously competed in an international for your competition for your "original country" (for lack of a better term). To the best of my knowledge Praught never represented the US in any international competition and with her father being Jamaican she has blood ties there so in my book she is fine.

You're definitely not a Bravey.
Can somebody please explain why Van Buskirk is not in the final?

Im an Olympian, thats great so you made the team, yes I did!
So you were in top three in their country trials? No, they don't have trials, I was selected.
Wow, your that good, impressive. Well not really, Im not good enough to make my national team but I figured out a way to get on to Olympic team because of a relatives birthplace in that country. Oh I see so you kind of snuck on the team vs being a real Olympian?
No, Im an Olympian , I ran in the Olympics! Ok, you figured out a way to beat the system. Good on you!
BTW, can you help me cheat on my taxes?
