No one feels sorry for you guys. You're adult athletes, you get a free (or close to it) education, and a fun lifestyle. If you can't handle a negative article then just quit the sport, don't blame the 'journalists.' The funny part is Flotrack is the most pollyanna everything-is-awesome outlet in the sport. They do this and the PC mob comes after them. Lesson: don't try to please the PC police, they will never be satisfied.
A "fun lifestyle "? Hahahaha!
What list was she on?

No different than NBA, MLB, NHL or NFL posting injury list for the week and who may be out. #whiners
No it’s substantially different

How is this “not going her way?”
Do you read what you write before posting?
I like Erin & I mostly like Flotrack. Don't see a problem here but I can understand how she feels. It is tough being a D1 athlete and seeing an article framed this way may have a negative effect on those people. And athletes are seeing their names appear on a website that profits off of their running.
Flotrack could have titled the article differently and could have put out the exact same thing. It's like looking at the NBA playoff race and seeing what teams are in 8th, 9th, 10th. Could have just said here's a list of athletes close to qualifying for indoors and then in the analysis point out if they're injured, redshirting, or they need another performance to push them in.
I can agree with this, but a complete over reaction this article is absolutely nothing
What list is she on. Please post what the list is that leaves out importance of thread
Eh I'm going to go with her being a baby. Some of these people aren't injured (Ariana Washington) and just haven't run fast. Some have run fast but in another event (Danae Rivers). Like many have said, if track wants to be taken seriously, this type of analysis is going to occur. Although I wouldn't even call it "analysis", it literally was just a list with no analysis.
Northwestern men's basketball made the ncaa tournament last year for the first time in school history, returned all of their players this year and have SUCKED this year. You better believe journalists and talking heads have been discussing how disappointing their season has been and scratching their heads on how NW could be so bad. Seems to be along the same lines as this list but with actual in depth analysis. Tbh, their coach has even been quoted in saying that the team was lazy in the offseason and have been playing bad. Is that the coach kicking them when they're down or motivating them?
Both Ariana and Clayton have been running slow since they hooked up..hmmm.
Ya'll need to calm down on Erin Finn. All I ever see on these boards is posts berating Erin for stuff [largely] out of her control, such as injuries or physical stature. Instead of ripping her apart, why aren't ya'll supporting the fact that she has the balls to use her platform to fight for other athletes? Sure, you may not agree with her opinion, but don't let that disagreement discredit her as a person or be the reason that you label her as a "baby". This woman's got the balls/pain tolerance/talent/mental tenacity to run some fast ass times, and you're belittling her for standing up for what she believes in. Also, ya'll gotta cut it out with making fun of her faith (@ the "at least she has God on her side" comment), let the woman live. Damn.

lol I think Flotrack changed the title
It said "Top NCAA Athletes Who Might Be Watching NCAAs From Home"
but now it's "Top Top NCAA All-Americans Who Might Not Qualify For NCAA Indoors"
Anyways, the article is just a list with the indoor events and athletes and their previous places next to them. For Erin, her name is listed under the Women's 5k with "NR Erin Finn (Michigan) | 15:27.36 in 2017, 2nd indoors."
You guys can't stand a strong woman unless her name is Hillary.

Who cares Erin Finn...if you can't handle it, than you can't handle being an athlete. That's what the competition is all about. The same thing is done in football and basketball and nobody complains. It's a sport and you have to be able to compete or handle not making it to the "big dance". She's always getting injured...maybe you could use that for motivation...or you'll be at home watching NCAAs.
Haha you’re really questioning her ability to handle being an athlete? She’s a 4xNCAA runner up (among a bunch of other all American honours), what have you done? I bet she does mile repeats at your 800 PR pace.

That's disgusting.
If that's the case, she definitely should not be competing with women.
She’s hurt and not running. What is she complaining about? Stop reading flotrack and go cross train.
Erin should seriously relax - its all good. Anyone already reading Flo or LRC is a fan and knows that the competition is intense and that life/injuries/whatever often conspire to keep great runners off the starting line. That said - we all shouldn't be out to reprimand Erin; she is a great talent and learning to find her 'voice' in the sport. Its all good.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
