Treacy's best was 2:09.15
University of Arizona (how I hate 'em) had:
Don Janicki 2:11
George Young
Ed Mendoza
Thom Hunt
Tom Ansberry
David Barney (took classes but didn't earn a degree).
I'm too lazy to google all their results, but it's a pretty good squad, probably second in the PAC-10 behind the Ducks.
Forgot Abdi.
Wondering where East Tennessee State U hangs with these guys:
I know they had a few good 26 milers, Cusack, O'Gara,
Did Dave Murphy go there?
Is Wesleyan the only college with two Boston Marathon winners?

I recall Mick Byrne (PC 78) ran about 2:18, I think at the old Ocean State marathon...
I think it will be hard to beat those Ducks! They were awesome.
I'm pretty sure we are forgetting several other PC Grads who've run even faster than Mick and myself though. I ran a 2:16 for second in Toronto one year ('81 maybe?). A great example of how NOT to run a marathon! I led every step until 2K to go and still lost by over 1:20 to a local guy named Peter Quance. Without walking!

The University of Michigan: Meyer, Weidenbach, the last two Americans to win Da Big One.
Didn't Mike Franko (2:19:30) attend EMU? So..
Minty
Smith
Verran
Johns
Franko
That makes the PC list:

Was that 2:11 Chapa's only post collegiate race? Anyone know why he didn't race after college?
It was a sad and mysterious thing with Rudy. His system was not quite as strong as Alberto's. But it eventually caught up with both of them.
Ok, so this might not meet the requirements for the post, but it's close. In the 1956 Olympic marathon in Melbourne all three US athletes were from Boston University.
From the BU Hall of Fame site:
In 1956 he (John J. Kelley) travelled to Melbourne, Australia to represent the United States in the Summer Olympic Games. More accurately, Kelley represented Boston University. The three-man American marathon contingent was composed of Terrier teammates Kelley, Dean Thackwary, and Nick Costes.
Rice had Jeff Wells, Sean Wade and Jon Warren, among others.
Here's one that may surprise you...might not be the best (some already listed in this thread are impressive) but is one of the top: SOUTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY.
Consider:
Rod DeHaven
Dick Beardsley
Garry Bentley
Jay Dirksen
Gary Fischer
Mike Dunlap
...and there were several more
Treacy never ran 2:08.

Re: the SDSU post. That's Randy Fisher...several sub 2:20s.
Did Dirksen (coach at U of Nebraska)run the marathon? He represented the USA at 10,000m in the Pan Am Games when those were a big deal.
Beardsley: how long was he at SDSU? Did he get a degree?
Dehaven is current coach at SDSU.

UTEP by a mile (almost) over Oregon! All three have impressive records though. This took a while to put together, but the topic seemed interesting.
Commendable work!
The University of Kenya at El Paso was stellar in it's day.
