Here is an interesting article I found in Kenya.

”Preparations are going on well. Currently am working on strength and speed. I will not be going for the world record but I will run a good race with a lot of hopes,” said the 2016 Rio Olympics Games marathon champion.
Later in the article he says, "Soon, I shall run a world record marathon. That is the only thing missing in my CV,”
Kipchoge says he WON'T be going for the WR in London

Pure zen. This careful planning and total self-confidence is why Kipchoge is absolutely the best DR in the world.
He is very focused, calm and authoritative. He has (in my view correctly) decided that London needs a win, the prize money and future prize money attached to a top ranking outweigh the WR bonus and the risk of being beaten if an all-out WR effort fails when surrounded by a strongly competitive field.
It sounds like he has a separate plan to attack WR at a lower-key marathon where no tactical considerations will be necessary vis-a-vis other runners. He'll simply blow them away by 15k and work unimpeded on the WR. I wonder where/when he'll do this? -
That's nice of him, maybe he'll let the Mobot and Bekele stay with him in the lead pack for 25k or so instead of dusting them all from the start
-
He'll win London easily in 2:04:xx and will probably try to brake the wr at Berlin.
I want to see him attack the half marathon record, he can brake it easy. -
Kipchoge will run a WR in London. The pacers are set to go through 30k under WR pace and Kipchoge will be with them. Don't expect bad weather or shoddy shoes to slow him down the last 12k. 2:02:34.

I think that's more beneficial for Bekele to be honest...if it was a pure time trial going for WR, that's an advantage for Kipchoge whereas i think slightly slower gives a tactical advantage to Bekele (and if really slow, Farah) -

I recently heard a rumor of Dubai next year. -

did he just say CV? As in Critical Velocity? Tinman is probably edging at his seat rn! -
It sounds as if Mr. Kipchoge believes he will always be young enough to run 2:02.
He should take advantage of his young age to go for it immediately in London. -
2:02 is becoming damn near impossible to break, because the men have hit a peak. Yeah, they are a boat load of runners running sub 2:05 now, but only 2 can run sub 2:04, and that is kipsang and Kipchoge. Kimetto and Bekele are done.
And Kipsang was the only one to run sub 2:04 last year ( tokyo). He will be running Tokyo again this year, with no real competition ( btw: Tokyo is to kipsang what new york is to Mary....they get a boat load of money to run them. They have to. Kipsang passes up London and Mary passes up chicago or berlin).
Kipsang might take down the record. However, he will have two shots at it: Tokyo and Berlin. Kipchoge might go for it in Berlin. Other than that, there are no other runners capable of running sub 2:04 right now. Again, do not say Bekele -
correction adola and kipchoge both ran 2:03 in berlin...
and even though adola ran sub 2:04..I can't really add him to the mix yet because that was his first marathon. I have to see if he is consistent. -

Curriculum vitae. That's what the rest of the world calls their resume. -
Kipchoge's biggest challenge in London will be Lawrence Cherono.

No no, Beleke is actually trying this time. It's not like all those other times he said he was trying but sucked anyways. -

If he 'brakes' during any marathon or half marathon, he won't be breaking any records. -

Don't hold your breath. He's supposedly older than 30 already, and just got steamrolled in a half marathon. -

You, Sir, are daring to look, and see, beyond the big names and stunt-casting. Bravo! -
I will call his bluff.
He Is going to go for it. Just wants everyone to think he isn't. Let them use all their energy on going for it (he will probably be just behind them for most of the race) and then he will drop a fast last 8k or so -
Translation: His shipment of EPO was delayed and because of this, won't be fully effective until after London is over.
