I’m a middle distance runner and I’ve been running around 50 miles per week this indoor season so far. I averaged around 65 in cross country before taking an easy month from end of Nov. to beginning of Dec. I ran pretty decent in the mile last season off of similar training and was able to run around 7:30-7:15 pace for my easy runs.
This year however I’m constantly dealing with fatigue and soreness in my legs. Workouts take so much out of me that I have to constantly am forced to go 8:00 pace for my distance runs cause I am so tired. Legs just burn. My times this season have been about 10 seconds slower this year. I get around 8-1/2 to 10 hours of sleep a night and eat good food. I got my blood and iron levels checked cause I thought I could be anemic but they came back fine. Thyroid also came back clear. Don’t know why I feel so gassed. 50 miles per week is not a lot to be this tired. Anyone have any suggestions?
