Speaking as a top US 24-hour runner, who is very familiar with all of the top 24-hour runners... there is no way this is legit. And it makes me sad.
Yes Tara is very talented. But she is not at the top tier. If she would pace a little better she could maybe hit mid 140s. But to go from a PR of 132 to 161... and the (overall, not treadmill) World Record is 161.5... just set last year, no woman had ever run over 160 before... AND to take over an hour and a half of breaks(!)... I'm sorry, it's just not possible. I mean, WTF.
I'm not saying she set out to fake it. Most likely, the TM calibration is way off. If she is really that much faster than just a few months ago, why not go down to FASTtrack last weekend in Florida and make the national team? That is after all her goal.
She even got a callout on irunfar.com for her effort, where they noted that if properly documented, it would break the TM WR. That's press, that's ego. It's also, I'm sorry to say, justification for her to continue to go out WAY too fast and blow up at her actual races. She could do so much better.
