How did you know?
Symmonds announcing a last race is like Fred Sanford claiming this is the "big one" (dated reference) in every other Sanford and Son Episode:
Final Race:

Retirement from Indoor: 2014
Retirement from Track: 2017

If I only had two marathons, not sure I'd pick Honolulu & Eugene. They seem like fine races but he did hit a Boston qualifier why not run a race where you get crowd support the whole time?

I’d have never thought a 3 hr marathoner announcing his next race would be a big deal on Letsrun.
Seriously!!!
Nick is a good dude. Love the advice he gives and passion for the sport. BUT.....is it just me or am I the only one getting a little worn out with his self promotion.
800m retirement tour, Run Gum, Final race, etc.... are all good and fun but self promoting yourself for an event that you have ZERO credibility in is a BIG REACH!
Come on Nick!!! It's time to hang up the shoes and MOVE ON!!!

I don't know which race he's announcing. But it only makes sense that it's Honolulu.
WHY?
It's the ONLY race that will fly him out, put him up, and PAY HIS BAR TAB.
Good work Nick!!! Well Done!!!

I heard trumpets blaring in the sky just before Nick Symmonds posted this on Instagram.
Is this really a pic of him on the phone negotiating his Oceanview room (with unlimited adult pay per view), Unlimited bar tab, Free daily refill of his hotel mini-bar, Unlimited room service, Daily massage (Escorts included), All you can eat POI, and............Free surfing lessons!!!!!
I WANT TO BE NICK "FREAKIN' SYMMONDS!!!!
So TMZ...I mean LRC is covering a retired competitive runner’s social media announcement that’s he’s going to jog a full-Mary...thufugouttahear.
I want that AW expose!
Why would a runner, still in good shape physically and well able to keep running, announce a last race?
That is something that I'd never do.
I would run, and run, until I could no longer run.

Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!
He's in great shape but for what??? He can't run a fast 800, 1500, 5000, 10k, 1/2 M-Thon, or Full M-Thon. His ONLY remote chance to hold on to past glory is to step up to ULTRA'S!!!
C'mon Nick!!! Grab your sack, pack your grill with Run Gum, Man up and go for the 100 miler. Or better yet....Tough Mudder!!!

He should have done London, the only other venue that he went sub-3 (1:43, that is)
