Sage will miss by less than a minute. Needs to hold it together to get sub 220.

Im not sure why Hoka continues to sign athletes on the rebound vs getting a young developing star that grows with the brand. Leo gave them recognition but clearly was on the backside. Cam, good athlete but maybe has left his career in his training. They have a boatload of "b" runners that have never made a team. Support with big money a couple of elite groups that have runners on the start line but really don't win anything of note.
Don't get me wrong, its good they are supporting so many athletes the sport needs companies doing this. Get us a winner Hoka. ( BTW, this is not an ultra discussion)
Sage projected for 2:19:42 at 40k, was rooting for him. Sub-2:20 is still quite solid. He can still OTQ- will have some more chances to do so unless he pulls off some crazy fast running here.

Watching the strong African runners breaking away from Molly Huddle is amazing. Just so strong and in a different league. Awesome.
You sure you want to go there and start talking about a different league...I think you know who the fastest is??
It was a HM race. You fool. Go Africa.

Bernard Lagat was on World masters record half marathon pace at 10k (he was projected 1:00:30) but he's now slowed down and is on 1:01:14 pace. The record is Gebrselassie's 1:01:14
according to mastersathletics.net bernie lagat smashed john campbells (nzl) all time best (62:28). geb ran this in vienna at 39 years of age, very close to 40.
I don't think that the site was updated after 2012. Get ran his 1:01:09 in 2013.

When did New Zealand move to Europe?

Two 12-year-olds are running this marathon?!?! What the hell? I thought most marathons, you need to be 18. I think 12 is way too young.

On a downhill point to point course in the great north run. Never understood why they were saying Geb broke the WR after that race when Paula ran the fastest Women's half ever there years before that did not count. Geb's time should not be eligible.
Partial men's and women's recaps are up on the front page.
We'll be adding more interviews from Houston soon.
So what happened to Jordan? 68:38 for a 2:20 runner is not very good.
Not having Jake in the top 5. Have you seen his workouts and post on instagram? On Jake's instagram ( www.instagram.com/jakethbz )he ran 5 x 3km closing in 8:29 at 8,000 ft altitude. And there's a photographer guy (Foon Fu) that followed him around and on his description for one of them ( www.instagram.com/ufnoof )it said he ran 30km at 4:55 - 5:05 pace at 8,000 ft altitude.

Geb ran 1:01:09 in Glasgow, not at the Great North run (which is downhill)
I've been following Jake on instagram for about 3-4 months now and the guy has been absolutely killing it in nearly every workout. The guy is clearly fit and I can't wait to see him race a marathon. Anyone know where he's running this spring?

Let's apply Letsrun standards:
He's white and he's not native New Zealand.
His ancestors are likely European.
Kind of like all this "africans" aren't American or Dutch, or French ...
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
