a lot of high IQ people are completely bored with the idea of slow grind wealth accumulation.....a very understimulating way to spend a life.
California Joe.....what do you do for a living? Does it seem worth it to spend most of your life doing it?

why is this so important to you? It's kind of amusing to see someone be so confident and wrong at the same time.
have you considered that perhaps your idea of a 150 IQ person may be mistaken?
anyways, enjoy your life, you seem content.

INCORRECT! There are no legitimate excuses.
Yup, there are no legitimate excuses. Even when your kids have cancer and your insurance refuses to pay citing you failed to disclose they had cancer so you are stuck paying $50k/yr in medical bills even though you had health insurance that was supposed to cover the costs.
Yup, not a single legitimate excuse exists in the world...
This happened to me. I was working full time, had savings, money in two accounts, things were good financially for the first time ever. Then an accident happened where I was physically injured and that was in August. Since then I've earnt £650. I'm still in my home - purely because I had the £5000 savings in one account and £2000 in another. But I've lost all of that. My life savings all gone as a result of one incident, one day. It really hurts because I earn £12,500 a year and it took YEARS to save up that money bit by bit. I can take the loss of the £2000 as I'd put it aside for taxes, which I paid recently. But the £5000 from my main account is a strong blow. Still at least I have my home which is the important thing. But I haven't been able to buy any new clothes, go out, travel outside of this town, buy anything really apart from basic food and bills, nothing else.

Nothing about me is relevant here. You are a fraud. Personified fake news.

Completely agree. You are irrelevant.

VERY valid point. Just in my near circle, unexpected terminations within 5 yrs of retirements happened to next-door neighbor and one brother-in-law. For the latter, he made unfortunate moves in hindsight-- taking offers w/losing companies and moving for family's sake in the technology sector. There's pride and delusion at play (he should be doing something, even "beneath" him for less money, to add to family income now), but age, industry trends, and the general economy can turn personal finances south in a hurry. And in America it seems to be happening with increasing frequency.
That's not how it works, you don't just miss a payment and get thrown out. They have to go to court, file papers, get a decision, and then get the sheriff. Depending on your state you may be able to use squatter's rights to hang on another month or two, or more.
