Saw this only yesterday, as both Gulden and Ingebritsen were named interim coaches...
Though it appears Gensel was forced out in mid September....

Rumors, rumors, rumors. Hearing that Dillion Maggertt’s blue jean mile on the Utah State track violated NCAA regs. Don’t know if that’s true.

Yes, if USU abides by the NCAA's recomended Time Management Plan (TMP) then the team/program must take 7 days off at the conclusion of the season (post-NCAA Championship);
So, if coach was present then BUSTED!
Why do so many coaches think they are above the rules?
When an athletic department has a female SWA who believes she knows more than any coach in the department, and tries to show how "tough" she is, situations like Utah State happen. Coach Gensel is still employed by the university, and there may be some interesting announcements within the next month. He is as fine a man as you will ever find, and the manner in which the administration treated him completely disrespectful. I find this to be a very sad situation and one that all coaches should really think about.
-no coach was present for the blue jean mile. Plus, gensel has been outed months previously.
-Gensel is no longer employed by the university. I SUSPECT that it was simply to cut costs.
-if you don’t know, don’t say anything
What does SWA stand for? I am familiar with the program, and I’m just curious who/what you are referencing. Here, in the anonimity of the internet, lets have some info.

Senior Women Administrator.
Typically, a female Associate AD who oversees women's sports and teams and Title IX compliance

Let’s name some names, if there really has been some foul play, let’s have some exposure.

Well if you "suspect" you don't actually know.
I am sure every NCAA coach has things people complain about.
I am sure every AD has their agenda. What is so bogus about this
is Gensel brought in some great young coaches (Gulden, Ingebritsen).
Gensel stuck with Maggard through some tough times. Women's
team was amazing. Men's team respectable. The on campus XC course
just hosted two NCAA regional meets. The MWC outdoor track meet
broke several records. Good reviews on that meet and the new track.
What does a guy have to do to have support from administration.
Unless he did something grossly wrong and negligent...this is on the
administration. So far it looks like Gensel is remaining classy about the
whole thing. We will see what comes of it in the near future. Hopefully
they recognize him in some way for the tremendous amount of work
and success the program has had. I think he was the second longest tenured
D1 coach in the nation. And they just had their best XC year ever...and one
of their best men's track teams ever over the last three years. This just
isn't a clear deal yet. Welcome to corporate America!

Anybody have an update as to whether they gave him a pension? Legal action, or what coach Gensel is up to nowadays? Truly shabby move by the AD.
