Hi everybody
I have the idea of changing the colour of my orange vaporflys to black. How could I change the colour of the overlay? Any ideas or tipps?
I am thankfull for every answer

I had mine bronzed
Really? How did you do that?
Use paint
Whatever you do, do not use acrylic paint. I made that mistake when I was in HS. I painted my steeple spikes white and the mesh became so stiff that wearing them was uncomfortable.
Now they come out in several colors, but I had mine in black. I was never in a position to change their color.
Dyeing them might be a better option. A colourfast dye in case it rains in your races (and you want to wash them).
1. remove laces
2. stuff with paper
3. tape off the midsole with masking tape
4. apply screen printing ink with a sponge
5. use a heat gun or hair dryer to cure the ink
the nice thing with the Vaporfly is that the logo is printed on, so it should be easy to cover, and the one piece fly knit upper allows for good coverage without having to mess with the tongue. Glob that ink on thick and make sure its steaming when you cure it. You can probably make them look pretty good this way, instead of the spray paint jobs I've seen on some of them
Just glaze them. Like a donut.
4% ??? Shouldn't the foam be falling off at this point? Don't waste money on paint, throw them away.
I still have a pair with 20 miles on them - but I did realize after posting that this thread was started three years ago
