Grant ran a PR with 29:47 but still got 11th to other runners who he beat last year at nationals. Apparently the course was quite flat according to my friend who was there. Was he just not going all out to save up for nationals or what? His 8k PR is a 29:37 equivalent but that was his freshman year. I guess all these other 10k's just go out much slower or are on harder courses. Apparently someone from WSU went out hard and completely dropped off in the last 2k.

Had to be a workout for him.

He took it VERY easy. Milt says relax, we're good. He cruised in.
-
Grant Fischer got 10th at regionals! I have a feeling this version was running all out. Still, a great result for him.
-
He's ready to win nationals. He had a nice tempo run.

Grant Fischer 10th at mountain regional.
Grant Fisher 11th at west regional.
10 is less than 11, therefore Fischer beats Fisher at nattys.
You heard it here first! -

Did he drop an amazing 60 second last quarter off of that "tempo"?
-
Knight ran only 31:43 at his regional.
29:47 is better than 31:43.
Therefore, Fisher will win. -
tons of guys at two other regionals ran sub 30, while some regionals had top times of 30s and 31s.
xc courses are not all the same. Fisher was likely tempoing. What about his other Stanford teammates. Fahy running that fast bodes well, but the others have to go hard at nationals to have a chance. -
You mean he didn't run all out in a qualifying race to please the lets run poster crowd ?
Kids these days... -
Why is this even a thread? Of course he took it easy for regionals, with his qualification locked, and the big dance only a week away, he had no reason to empty the tank at regionals- he's going to be rested and ready to roll at NCAAs
-
LOL he beasted the last quarter of his tempo at PAC12s. Glad you remember my thread :)
