The towpath trail in the CVNP is probably the prettiest and best trail I've run on. I've lived on both coasts, numerous cities in the midwest and south, NorCal, SoCal, DC, NYC, and more. The towpath in the Fall in an absolute delight. There is a small marathon in October that runs almost entirely on the trail and might be one of the best small, picturesque races in the country. I live elsewhere now, but miss running in the CVNP. The poster above is right about Akron. Good running clubs, a vibrant race scene (for non-elites), many wonderful trails and parks.

Let me get this straight... you lived close to one of the best areas to run in the US and you call it crap?
https://www.nps.gov/cuva/index.htmSounds like either a troll or someone who'd complain if they were hanged with a new rope.
Now, if you say the cold just wasn't for you, I can get with that, but calling the area crap for running is just not true.

Ohio is crap running conditions in most places. I've ran in Akron for many years, and am happy I've moved to SC.
