i was wondering what IC4A stood for. I noticed that that was the name of a conference and i believe it goes by the name of eastern college athletic conference, where does IC4A fit into that?
also. i believe iona is in this conference, and i'm sure that james madison is? how good is james madison in cross, they didn't make it to nc's did they? i saw where they looked pretty impressive on the track though, lots of pretty good guys.

The IC4A is not so much a conference anymore, but rather a championship. It includes schools up and down the East Cost that belong to many difference conferences (i.e. Duke, Georgetown, George Mason, Iona, etc.)
What school has won the most IC4A titles?
I know George Mason won 6 or 7 in a row starting in ?89 but I would think that Villanova has won the most.
By the way there are about 100 schools and several conferences in the ICAAAA which began before the inception of the NCAA.
The IC4A, started in the 1890's, wasn;t really ever a conference but rather the national championship before NCAA was born in 1921. Especially now with NCAA Regionals, its importance has waned but the indoor event is still a big deal, and it will be rockin at BU in two weeks. Think of it as an Eastern regional of sorts.
Anyway, Villanova has more IC4A titles than almost all of the other schools combined. According to Jumbo Elliott's biography, Villanova won the IC4A's 39 times while he was coach (indoor and outdoor) and his athletes won an individual event 316 times. Whoa.
so these guys are gonna go all out the week before NCAA's trying to win the IC4A? seems like they should run it this weekend after they've run their conference meets then have a full two weeks recovery for big show, not the other way around.
