Why don't people ever talk about all the other kinds of privilege beside white privilege?

African-Americans originally descended down from slaves and were subject to legal institutional discrimination until 1964. Wealth often gets carried down families. Children whose parents have more money get to live in better areas, go to better schools, and face less adversity and have less negative influences and problems that normal people face. They can more easily buy tutors, go to private schools, go to college, etc.

African Americans have never had any real chance at getting money and a job until ~53 years ago. 53 years is nowhere near enough for African-Americans as a whole to catch up to whites in terms of overall household wealth, which many American whites have had for over a century longer. In 53 years, you can expect a person to grow up, have kids at maybe 25-30, and then have the kid grow up to be 23-28. That's nowhere near enough time for African-Americans or any economically disadvantaged group to catch up on their own.

Your narrative breaks down because most African American families are fatherless. So they are going nowhere no matter what. Household wealth etc doesn't even matter if the family is broken to sh$t. But I suppose that's whitey's falt too right?

How about personal responsibility? That would go a long ways to correcting the imbalances, but I supose the liberal mind can't handle such a concept since everything is always someone elses fault.

Little known fact the term Jewish Privilege (In German) was widely used in 1930's Germany with the purpose of creating resentment towards Jewish People, There was also a burning of Jewish Books in 1930's Germany to erase Jewish Works and History.

It seems history is repeating as when you see people talking about white privilege it is by someone who resents whites (even though MANY/MOST are White themselves examples Noel Ignatiev, Tim Wise, Lisa Bloom etc.) also getting rid of statues of white men of the past is similar to burning of the books in attempting to erase history.

The College Students are probably like sheep echoing what their leftist Professors are saying, but guaranteed the professors know of the term privilege being used to create towards a group of people in 1930's German it was resentment of Jews, Now it is to create resentment Towards Whites, and the erasing of history will continue even if they get rid of all the confederate statues, sounds crazy, but white people are under attack (Strangely by other white people for the most part) The attacks will continue on American and western History, Values, culture, Heritage, Way of life etc. which makes no sense as besides Japan and Korea and maybe a few others, the only countries people try to flee to are Western Meaning European and Australia, New Zealand, Canada etc.

It amazes me that people do not recognize the parallels. The have-nots have always had it out for the haves, doesn't matter where or what time period. Rarely does it get to the point of the Holocaust, but the fundamental idea and rhetoric is the same. It also amazes me that people would be horrified if all the anti-white language that is so common these days was identical but with "white" swapped out for "Jew" or "Jewish." People find one atrocious yet the other is considered completely PC. Incredible people can be so overtly racist and dense.

People typically say whites should be aware of their white privilege. It's like the only part that is important is the shaming part. I've never heard anyone say we want to give white privilege to black people.

I did not watch the video. But this is a silly concept.

There is no such thing as cognitive privilege. if you are the person for a job because you have the brains for it, you should be hired. Period.

As for the others, they are discussed and not ignored as the OP claims. There were recent reports that Jared Kushner only got into Harvard because of his family's wealth as did Dubya.

Finally watched the video. Notice he didn't say:

Straight privilege. It's a great time to be gay in America.

The fact that the police are more cynical towards blacks than towards asians and are thus not treated equally completely destroys many 'conservative' narrative's of equality.

I agree that there are other privileges but the differences are that some privileges are more advantageous than others. For example would you rather be black and have athletic privilege along with their disadvantages of growing up in poverty and in a broken home, going to bad public schools, being targeted by cops, dealing with subtle racists messages everyday, being constantly told blacks are dumb and lazy, and that there is nothing wrong with America. You might have a slight chance of getting an athletic college scholarship if you can make it through your broken home by having the will power of avoiding the bad influences of your family and community all while being able to teach yourself high school courses and being able to keep up your grades and a high enough SAT score to get accepted to a division I or II school. Don't even dream about being a pro athlete the odds are greatly against you, you are more likely to be an engineer than a pro athlete.

Or would you rather have white privilege and grow up in a middle class household with supportive parents and a good community, with friendly cops, good schools, being raised with good study habits and you're able to get into your local university or state university, and you become an engineer. While being disadvantage by not getting into your dream school because a black person with a lower SAT score took your spot, and being stereotype as being depressed, on ADD or ADHD meds, treating your parents bad, or God forbid, being told you are privileged!

Which privilege would you pick between these two?
