Such big fields, I have no idea who comes out on top. Am thinking Ches & Lipari underperform. Will be fun to watch.....
Ouch! Did King Ches get 16th and Lipari 23 seconds off the pace??

Emily Lipari was sick and almost didn't start the race. She decided to run anyway since it was her last race of the season.

No. You are wrong again. (No surprises there)
You need to give calculation adjustments for:
1) the small incline that was part of the race course ✔
2) race was run on roads and not on a fast track✔
3) uneven parts of road ✔
4) manhole covers on the road (only an issue if Ninja Turtles are around)
5) runners not wearing spikes ✔✔✔ðŸ‘
Please show the work for all of your calculations and give references from the scientific literature to support your adjustments.(never going to happen 😉)
Good luck.
You will need it.
No Chez had plenty in the tank...Watch any race Edward has ever lost, and it is the same...Chez does not run out of gas; he quits...because he has no heart or courage and then always talks post race about he is injured or has been injured so his training was not right and blah blah... always excuses. I have never heard him say that he was 100% healthy and acknowledge that he was defeated by a stronger runner. This is why Chez haters despise him.
For those that passed kindygarden.....
it looked like King Chez went too hard up the hill during quarter two and had nothing left for the finish. He had actually gapped the chase pack after the 800, not counting the 2 that went for the halfway bonus. If he were to have run a smarter race, I bet he'd have fared much better. This is where experience on the course helps.[/quote]

Jess Judd is terrific.
I can't wait until next year to see how much she improves over the winter.
European women 1500m running is going to be very exciting with the front running trio of Muir, Klosterhalfen and Jessica Judd.
Don't forget Laura Weightman and Eilish McColgan (with her Warrior-World Champion-Mother-Coach) ...and...... Laura Muir ( = XENA the Wee Sparra Warrior Princessâ„¢)

Thx for the info. Am a big Lipari fan as I am a Long Island native. Bummer as I'm sure she had lots of friends/family there pulling for her. Still kinda shocking tho in light of the fact she just won the Hoka Mile 3 1/2 days earlier.
Another good day for Ducks! Although not the 1-2-3 finish from last year, Alexander and Jenkins took 5-6, both running 3:52.6. Last year Oregon Ducks Jenkins, Centro and Alexander went 3:49, 3:49, 3:50 for the fastest 1-2-3 finish in race history. Race went out too slowly this year to dip under 3:50 but great efforts by the Duck alumni in a super competitive field!
Kudo's to the NYRRC for bringing in a field of this caliber.

The race did go out slow. Windle and Engels were about 1:58 at the 800 and the chase pack was at least 2 seconds back. So my calculations have Willis and the top finishers running in the neighborhood of 1:51 for the last 800.

Last year it seems to me they went out way faster. Murphy and Big Ben ran around 1:53.
