Krumins has PR'd over 15/3k/5k/10k all in the space of a month.
31.21

She's probably a 10k/HM girl but just shows you can run a fast mile off of endurance training.

Agreed, but she has been training for endurance for at least a few years if I am not mistaken
Not so for the Americans who have focused on the mid distances until this year
McColgan is the fastest knock-kneed 1500 meter runner ever.
Wow, two things came to mind watching this video
1) that young woman is FEARLESS! Wow!
2) She does look suspiciously thin in the upper body... I wonder if that's limiting her somewhat.
It's hard to believe that Klosterhalfen and the following athletes are contemparies of Mary Cain:
Margaret Nyairera Wambui
Gudaf Tsegay
Dawit Seyaum
Raevyn Rogers
Alexa Efraimson
Senbere Teferi
Lilian Kasait Rengeruk
Sofia Ennaoui
AnÃta Hinriksdottir
Jessica Judd
Agnes Jebet Tirop
Allie Ostrander
Katie Rainsberger
Anna Rohrer
Karissa Schweizer
Cain actually beat most of these athletes at some time or another. From memory, I think Cain beat Rowbury, Martinez and Kate Grace when she was in her mid teens. Cain is only a few years younger than Courtney Frerichs, Shelby Houlihan, Laura Muir and Ajee Wilson. Looking at Klosterhalfen makes me reflect on how amazing Cain once was...and possibly still can be.

Nice progression for her in last 4 years:
4:19.9 (Youth)
4:09.5 (Junior)
4:06.9 (Junior)
3:58.9 (Senior)
You rarely see this nice linear progression. it's what all female runners dream of, but it rarely happens.
How is this a "nice linear progression"? Here are her yearly improvements over the last three years:
10.4
2.6
8
A linear progression means she improved by the same proportion every year. Her improvements aren't even close to linear. She improved three times as much this year as last. (Interestingly, in the 800, her big improvement was 2 years ago.)
She'll be done in a few years. That is not a sustainable body.

Americans may be fatties, but they've been doing alright lately. Truly, what white woman does Klosterhalfen look like that run professionally and have had a long healthy career?
I bet you're fun at parties... he used linear to mean steady progression, rather than the mathematical sense of the word.
Klosterhalfen is going to break in the next 12 months and never run any faster for the rest of her career, being that shape is not sustainable

Yet no other white woman in the world has broken 4 this year. Hmmm. No American woman has run within 3 seconds of her this year (Simpson surely could, but hasn't). Muir didn't technically break 4 this year either. Klosterhalfen could definitely hit 14:30 in the next few years and I think the 5k will be her best event down the road. Once she develops more speed, she could be hitting times like Sifan Hassan, who is also super thin but can run a 1:56 800 and get a world medal in the 5k in the same season.

Her BMI is barely 15. At some point you have to go through puberty. I do not know her and likely never will. I have no clue what she's doing for training. It's obviously working well. However, her body will not be able to sustain an elite training/racing/traveling schedule with a BMI of less than 16. There will be problems if she can't put muscle on and when once they start she'll likely be done very quickly.
Girls like this need to take weightlifting as serious as their running otherwise they're going to break.
Klosterhalfen is no skinnier than McColgen. Whats different is that Klosterhalfen has very wide hips which is atypical for a female runner, and this creates an illusion that she has a v small waist. She's also extremely tall which makes her look thinner.
do her wide hips give you the illusion that 105 pounds is ok for someone who is 5'9"?
I think she looks healthy. Her face looks good and sehr ist Happy. So very healthy. Americans are Just used seeing whales everywhere

IMO the illusion is the other way around, her upper body is tiny, making her hips seem larger than they are. She looks perfectly healthy, just naturally built like a stick insect the same as Asbel Kiprop for example.
Does anyone know why Klosterhalfen isn't running in the Brussels DL this weekend? Since Simpson is running, I assume Klosterhalfen (and Muir) turned down invitations.
