Something about this kid and his family history smells fishy.

Whats the reaction been in the Norwegian track community to Henrik I. being on the fancy bears list as 'likely doping'?
As previous poster said, nobody believes it. Norway tests their athletes often. We have one of the strictest programs in the world, and due to a lot of funds and few top athletes its easy to test them all.
Gjert Ingebrigtsen (father and coach) said it explained a lot. After that crazy fast race in Monaco two years ago Henrik said he was the only being taken away by the testers after the race, which he found really suspicious. Its still suspicious that he was the only one, but its more understandable now. They also said he was one of the guys always being taken away for testing at internation competitions.
Johaug's excuse was weak at best. You can buy the lip cream over the counter and it has a big WADA sticker plastered all over it. So, unless she suddenly forgot how to read ...
I think his 3k steeple PR is most impressive. 8:26 @ 16. Evan Jager part Deux.

Is he racing later this week? Or next weekend?
Hes scheduled to run the norwegian youth championship. Obviously he is far too good for that and could win everything he wanted from 800 and up, but his father is doing it to keep him from being a diva.
Article (translated with google) about him running youth championship

he doesn't want to be a steepler...thinks its a B event...1500m is all he thinks about.
He will run 400m in the national youths...
How will giving him a chance to dominate one or more weaker fields at the end of a season like he's had keep him from being a diva?

Why aren't the others taken by testers? What is the agenda here?

Abnormalities in your blood passport get you flagged for extra testing.

Age cheat. Most American 16-year-olds are in the beginning or middle of their age range. Apples and oranges. If he were in the American HS system, he would be as old as many juniors and even some seniors, so you can't compare his accomplishments at the age of 16 to other 16-year olds. Plus I heard that "Grandpa" Jakob was actually 8 and winning primary school races in Kenya when he was "born" in Norway, so he's at least 24 now and past his prime. He's actually the oldest brother, but there's lax birth certificate enforcement in Scandinavia.
You bear your nick with pride I see. And know so much about Scandinavian birth certificate enforcements... And the truth is Jakob is actually black (like Seb Coe) :-)

Yup. The guy that's from a country with one of the most strict doping controls gets pulled vs a dozen or so guys from countries with some of the most lax doping controls, a number of doping offenses, and dozens on the "likely doping" list. That makes total sense

Typical diva-behaviour is starting to think you are "too good" to be at competitions like that, skipping them and because of that making them less important for everyone.
