Some asked for "verifiable" records for Pete. As if the records provided already were not verifiable.

Where are all you URC Mimi defenders now? Your hero is a cheating, lying, fraud.

I don't think we have proof that she cheated. We just have an incomplete record and a few of her friends trolling us.
You guys are forgetting the OG lying cheats: Sebastien and Peter Coe.

The U.S. has plenty of cheats too (Rossi, cough cough) but I think Americans are more skeptical in general. Plenty of Americans thought the biggest baddest cheat of all time (Lance) was guilty but it took a long time for justice to be served. In a way it never was.
Robert Garside was the first. He actually got Guinness World Record fame for his scam world run.

I don't have any inside information with regards to Guinness but I think I could try reaching out to them to get a copy of the rules, which should be made public. Don't hold your breathe though, they never got back to me about Amy Hughes.
Thanks. Maybe they were already contacted by the Amy fanboys and since they weren't going to give her the record anyway decided not to follow up. In this case I believe Mimi already has a couple of GWRs so she may already have a relationship with someone and be able to use it to her advantage.
Ironically you may need to ask Gary what religion he is before you cause him of being an islamaphobe!

Yeah, we don't have a smoking gun like Asher provided for Rob Young. We need to let this one play out a bit and see if there is other evidence. But for sure Mimi and her team have told lies about the GPS tracker.
As I understand it, GWR won't do a thing until the record claim is submitted: You attempt your record, you submit evidence, they verify it (or not, #justiceforamy lol), you're a record breaker.
And to quote 2Pac, "Only GWR can judge me".
The Garmin records from this morning are messed up but we now have a recently started run untainted by support vehicles. She's looking strong.
I don't understand why she's having so much trouble with the device but hopefully she can figure out when to start and stop tracks to give us cleaner data. For the fan boys I'm not accusing her of anything, it's good that she got a ride back to where she stopped last night, but adding those car rides onto the beginning or end of her run throws the combined data out of whack.

Her run is entirely unofficial. Team Mimi needs to accept that. Just like the unofficial 63.5 day record. It seems reasonable--there were multiple runners doing the ran (same route, Markus?)--but Guinness did not get what it want to listed at the record.
Unfortunately, the entire Mimi Show was been a major PR event from the start. A well funded one. And one that stands to make a lot of money if they can get Guinness to verify the record. ... The real record setter might be Sandy if she carries on as she has to the end, which it seems she will. ... Mimi would steal the accolades from Sandy ... that seems to be in her, and her husband, HWMBO, are desperate for the money and accolades.

Trouble with operating a recording device accurately is enough to get world records tossed in the real T&F world. A fault wind gauge = no record. A faulty timer = no record. Mimi has completely knackered her devices.
"Fortunately runners have still been able to join Mimi using the contact form on the website to get through to us and track her from the latest point on the map at which these trackers worked. We appreciate it is much harder without a working live tracker, however we're now back on track (😆) and Mimi can't wait for you to join her on the road."
Jenny says people have reached them through the contact form and that they have been running with Mimi. Have there been outside observers? It would be good to get some objective first person accounts / video.

How convenient. They know exactly when to put the show on.
rjm33. You can tell because of the ridiculous acronyms he spews out impulsively. Also creepily obsessed with british woman runners like Paula, Laura Muir, now Mimi.

As an 'I-want-to-believer', I think this attitude is the right one. I'm tired of late arrivals to this thread going over old ground. I know that Mimi has pedigree. I know that this counts for nothing. I know they've messed up the tracking. We know data can be faked. I know that if she's a fraud she'll get found out. And I know I want to pore over all data and evidence post-run.
Any WR should have a rock solid data collection process. If the data gets buggered then it shouldn't be WR worthy. At least not with today's data collection technologies.

In other words, her attempt is NOT letsrun.com certified.

Should I go on - what is it about the UK?
Lolz. Try out the wonderful resource that is Wikipedia, not perfect I know, but a fine list of banned athletes for athletics.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_doping_cases_in_athleticsNow press Crtl + F on your keyboard and type in United Kingdom (3 matches) and Great Britain (16 Matches). Next try United States (96 matches)
Well look at that.
Yes, we have some issues in the UK and myself I'm very cynical about some of our best performers, but Mo only started getting suspected of cheating when he moved to the US and got himself a US coach. Where did Dwain Chambers get his goodies from again? British Cycling stinks to high heaven, but again I don't know if the US are in a position to wash their hands of any cycling guilt just yet.
Rob Young, Dave Reading etc are grade A w**kers. You have plenty of frauds your side of the pond too or this website wouldn't exist (www.marathoninvestigation.com)
In one sentence you state that Mimi's previous experience/record counts for nothing and then some moron comes along and says that what a bunch of random people, that she is connected to by Nationality, affects how she is treated. It's one or the other. The past either matters or it doesn't. I'm pretty sure Pete's experience made a difference in how you treated him, as well as his Nationality.
There is no doubt in my mind that Pete's run is 100% legitimate, but I have the same faith in Mimi too.
It's funny how Galen Rupp and Centro have gone down the pan after the FBI started investigating Salazar? Lucky the Americans don't cheat so it must just be a coincidence.
