Wow that took you long.
That site exists since 1910.

No website has existed since 1910. Very few since 1990 for that matter...
Pete's route match with his Strava per Google Maps
From where Sandy ended today to Fort Lee (George Washington Bridge crossing)
https://goo.gl/maps/jy22KYAJypy
+ 13 miles to NY City Hall
=614 miles
53:X:X finish
60 miles a day average for 9 days = 540 miles
74 mile push on Nov 3rd
Estimated finish based on 5 day average of 56.6 = 54;X:X
56.6 miles a day average for 10 days
48 miles on Nov 4th
If estimating miles based upon Pete's route:
According to Pete's FB page published during the run
OH - 231 miles
PA - 327 miles
NJ/NY - 88 miles
=648 miles
60.9 miles today - 35 miles Oct 24 starting point to IN/OH border = 25.9 miles (distance from IN/OH border to Oct 24 finish)
Therefore 648 - 25.9 = 622.9 is the total number of miles remaining on Pete K's route.
If Sandy can push for a 61 miles a day average and make the final push of 70-80 miles starting at midnight on Nov 3rd like Pete K did on his final day, she might skirt into City Hall before the gate shuts down, I'm guessing at 5pm unless they want to work overtime on a Friday (wink.)
Can we get a shout out to Pete K and his band of followers? They made it to NYC today, exactly 1 year ago. Happy Transcon-aversary Pete K!

648 - 25.9 = should be 622.1
I think your two numbers of 622 and 614 are the bounds for the final miles.

Thank you math is hard. I will update the end of day summary using your two numbers for miles to go. Please keep updating them and I'll use them on the next day's summary post.

Will do. As long as you don't mind correcting my errors. As you can see, Math is hard. :)

Here are some numbers. AquaDyne provided a different set of miles for OH-PA-NJ/NY.
Pete's Miles: Math is Hard from Pete's FB -- AquaDyne's Numbers from Pete's Garmin?
OH: 231 -- 227.5
PA: 327 -- 321.0
NJ/NY: 88 -- 85.8
Pete's Total: 646 -- 634.3
Pete's Route Miles
Miles to Go at Ohio Border: 646 -- 634
Sandy Miles run up to OH: 2458
Sandy's Total Miles: 3104 -- 3092 (Math is Hard -- AquaDyne)
Google Maps Walking Distance
Miles to Go at Ohio Border: 639
Sandy Miles run up to OH: 2458
Sandy's Total Miles: 3097
AquaDyne's Numbers end up shorter than the Google Maps walking distance. I think that is caused by some loss of breadcrumbs in Pete's Garmin data. The 3104 value provides an upper bound, and the 3097 walking distance a lower bound.
Any update on how Miranda is doing? Already back in the UK?

So today I went out and ran with Sandy. She was very pleasant, a wonderful lady. Her crew were amazing and very accommodating. Sandy looks strong, but everyone does better with support behind them. I brought along some of the youth that I coach so that they could experience what a daunting task this really is.
Many of you comment about the state of our sport, and the decline of popularity. So I ask you to get involved. Help increase the awareness of this accomplishment before it’s over. I know it is post season time in this area and college post season is beginning, but get your team out and run with her. Get your local running group out and share some miles with her. Make a donation if you can or wish to. But just come support her. Call first, Cinder was awesome and finding them was simple with her trackers. If you live in Eastern Ohio or Pennsylvania please help her as she is headed your way. Let local papers know she’s coming near your town, promote your sport, promote Sandy. She seems to be a great representative for running, humble and hard working. Get involved, I did and I glad I could. For those to far away, keep sending well wishes. Sorry so long, just my 2.5 cents worth.
Very cool! Neat that you brought a few kids from your group to check out what it takes, too.

It was neat for them. The pace was easy, but they realized how difficult it must be to keep going day after day. Especially in snow/rain or extreme hot/cold.

I wouldn't argue with your post, except I think for the integrity of the sport, one should first try to find them, unannounced, paying the surprise visit. The reasons should be obvious. Then, go back and call if necessary.
The point of the tracking is to provide the means to come across the runner unannounced, as it should be. But if they protest, then, they probably "protesteth too much". Ehh, Timmy and Jenny?

Getting used to eat a lot and eating on the run both Pete K and Sandy have said in interviews was also really difficult.

END OF DAY SUMMARY PER STRAVA

12:32:08 : 14:02 (Excludes breaks)
OVERALL SUMMARY
Total Miles: 2536.7 (Per Stava)
Miles /day: 56.4 (Based on Stava)
Route Miles Pete: 3104 ** (Sandy total miles if staying on Pete's Route)
Miles to Go Pete: 567 ** (Based on staying on Pete's Route)
Route Miles Google: 3097 (Sandy total miles if following Google Maps shortest legal walking distance)
Miles to Go Google: 560 (Based on Google Maps)
NOTE **: The miles Sandy needs to cover is further than Pete's 3,067 mile route. The Route Miles is equal to Pete's 3,067 + 26 miles added as an adjustment. The adjustment is based on Pete's FB log of 646 miles run through OH+PA+NJ+NY. Those final miles were added to Sandy's miles run up to the OH border.
NOTE: Adjustments are being made to Pete's Route by Pete's sister to try to shorten, or make for a safer route for, the remaining distance to NYC.
I believe we were told that she requires around 7,000 calories a day.... have to be a good eater for that! And to the others point of surprise, I get it. I chose to meet up, give a donation, and join for a run. But a surprise visit, or fly by shouldn’t be discouraged either. The nice thing is that unlike RY, she runs during the day. And with the tracker was really easy to find.
I know that the veracity of these events are always in question (and rightfully so with all the fakes out there). But in this case, after running with her and seeing their operation I completely believe in Sandy’s run. And wish them the best of luck!
