If you run further than 1500m then it's not really a 1500m time trial. You can run a 1500m time trial in lane 3, but it will be tricky to determine the exact starting point (assuming you want to finish at the finish line) and get lap splits.
The difference in times would be extremely minimal. Sprinting in lane 1 may have a difference, though I expect it is only about a few hundredths of a second.
