My running schedule keeps getting messed up
Last week it was
Monday: off
Tuesday 7/18 - 3 miles
Wednesday - 3 miles
Thursday - 5 miles
Friday: 6 miles
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: 6 miles
Monday: 7 miles
I don't know If I should take a rest day tomorrow or well technically today (since it's tuesday)
And Im struggling with them. Like after two miles i feel drained and I'm not over training. My legs aren't even tired or heavy.
There's so many factors. I don't know if I just need to hydrate more or not run so late (I'm running at like 9 to 11 at night). Maybe it's because I'm running around my block and I set water right outside my house.
Or because I'm mentally fatigued or bored and I need to run with a team since I'm still on vacation which I will be back next week to train with them.
Any Advice?
So you're running at 10pm and going to bed I'm guessing closer to 12am? Perhaps you're not getting enough quality sleep. If you need water for a 3 or 5 mile run you're not hydrated very well at all, (I live in the deep south in 80+ degrees and 78 dewpoints and routinely run 8 miles with no water and feel just fine.) Also, you're probably running too fast on your easy days because you probably just, 'wanna get through the run' which makes you feel more like crap on your quality days which I'm guessing feels like you're racing it.
If it were me I'd move my schedule around. I'd run early in the am or closer to 6 or 7pm. I would run a minimum of 30 sec per mile slower on my next run regardless of how easy it's gonna feel for the first two miles. I would then start focusing on getting to bed at 10 or 11pm. Take two days off in a row run your 5 days in row. Then resume your normal schedule next week.
