During the final today she looked like she had a hitch in her stride. I don't think it's a mental problem.

But she's ultra liberal, so minus two points.
Blech. I hate that. Totally ruins it.
Love her attitude. Ditto about adding to her hotness.
I hope that she comes back from this. Gotta be tough at this point in her career!
yeah she is...and to make it worse she's the type to force her whack job opinions on social media.

Oops. I take back everything I've said.

She's not injured. She said that this is actually the fittest she's ever been.
The reason for her struggles over the hurdles is that she tried to change her technique this year, but she admitted to us after the race that she's still not totally confident in it. Hesitating before a barrier is not something you want to do in the steeple, but if you don't trust your form, you hesitate, which leads to bad hurdles and a fall like the one she suffered in Sacramento.
Garcia's interview may have been the best one I conducted at USAs yesterday. She very candidly discussed the problem in a way that most pros would be unwilling to. Props to her.

Great interview. Refreshing candor.
From the video; who is her 44yo coach with flawless form..?

Yes, the hitch was obvious, definitely a physical problem, not mental at all.
She's trying to be tough and cover it up mentally, but it's real and affects her.
Robert Gary
Below average coach. Wonder if he'll get fired again for stealing money from the athletic program like at Ohio State.

Stephanie was the second most fit athlete in the women's final, but due to horrible technical inefficiency will not be going to London. Robert Gary is the self-proclaimed expert on steeplechase technique. Maybe he should consult with others who have athletes that actually know how to hurdle over a barrier. It was difficult to watch this very fit athlete lose because of technique.

Are there highlights of the women's steeple posted anywhere? I haven't been able to find them.
Exactly. Maybe Robert Gary should ask Jerry, Wetmore or Simmons how to coach steeplers. Rachel Johnson also injured, Hoover misses the final and Stevens injured. Poor, poor coaching.

I came here because she mentioned this conversation on Instagram today. I've never noticed her talk about politics. Maybe I am not as sensitive to knowledgeable about the quotes she uses sometimes? Where does she force her opinions on us?
I found one post in January about wishing she could be at the women's march and one on elections on day about voting.
Any woman who expresses any kind of statement on equality or rights or semi-liberal politics is automatically branded a whack job. No wonder Jamin et al have so much resentment at never getting dates.
On the doorstep of another Olympic year and Stephanie hasn’t raced the steeplechase since 2017!
She has managed to redirect her self caricature, Steph Steeples, into the “real talk” realm on social media, with a soft core porn meets home shopping network approach.
It’s kind of hard to take her seriously at this point.
How much do you charge her to live inside your head? Bumping a two and a half year-old thread to take shots at her is pathetic.

You bumped a crappy thread to bash someone.
And FWIW, 99% of her Instagram posts are about running. Not sure where you’re getting soft core porn from - seemingly just trying to bring someone down for sad selfish reasons.
Spotted her at the airport today. Would have said hi but didn't ring a bell until after she left my view and you know, Covid. What is she targeting running wise for 2021? Is the still training with Conley, or did that partnership end?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
