Sure, there's a lot of bad SA wine, but there's also some great hidden gems. Radford-Dale makes stunning Syrah and Pinotage, for instance, and Waterkloof makes an awesome light-bodied, chillable Cinsault -- perfect summer red. Badenhorst makes a hell of a white fieldish blend that is a nice analog for good Rhone whites. Plenty out there if you're not an idiot!
