Do you have kids? I don't know about any of the other fathers in this thread but from the second my daughter was born, I've felt towards her far more strongly than anyone or anything else I've ever experienced. It absolutely dwarfs any other feeling I've ever felt. It is primal and involuntary.
I would choose her over my wife in an instant and without hesitation and that does not mean I neglect my wife.
You talk about love between spouses and love towards one's own child as if they're in any way similar, and boy howdy, they are not.

And you are right, the love is very different (which I believe I HAVE alluded to, but not the point). It is precisely BECAUSE that love is different that we must be even more intentional with our love for our spouses.
To your initial point: I don't see it that way. That means she loves the kids more than herself.
